Patriots Injury News The Patriots placed WR Mack Hollins on IR

Williams has 3 catches which is hollins average and we stopped throwing at halftime.
Pop is injured and hasn’t played much.
Who got more snaps because Hollins was out? DIGGS
And he produce 6/101 in a half.
As I said Hollins snaps will be absorbed by Diggs, Boutte, Douglas and Williams playing more snaps. All are better than Hollins. Today with Boutte out and pop hitting Chism got some snaps and he looked better than hollins too.
So were you wrong on Chism being an NFL caliber player?
I'm just curious if you will ever admit you're wrong....about anything.

Chism had zero catches before today. He was not an NFL caliber WR at cutdown.
Had he been on the PS until we got 2 WRs injured he would have gotten his chance today.
We would have had another player on the roster who could have helped us the first 15 games.

But just to be clear you are now pivoting to I am right about Hollins and now want to go back to my (correct) evaluation about a raw rookie and try to call me wrong?

Are you actually interested in discussing football or are you just here to find gotchas?
It’s rather annoying tbh

Wow, pot meet kettle.
"Just here to find gotchas"
May I remind you this whole exchange started with you saying:
"Guess we aren’t missing him today, huh?"
It's rather annoying to be honest.

No the exchange started when I said Hollins won’t be missed because his snaps will be taken by better receivers. A data point was introduced the next time we took the field.
That’s not a gotcha.

Moving the goalposts to hey here’s another player than my obsession with you causes me to remember you think shouldn’t have made the team so I caught you on one (which you didn’t) is an attempted gotcha.

You don’t even discuss the issue 75% of your discussion is about me, not opinions or facts.

Fact.
you felt the need to come on here and say "Guess we aren’t missing him today, huh?"
Now you are going to argue that's not a gotcha.
Let's put it to a poll and ask objective posters if they would consider that a gotcha.
You know damn well that was you trying to toot your own horn.

We were discussing his impact. A data point was added. I added a comment. Showing that your argument is in the process of being proven wrong is not a gotcha.
Pulling up something unrelated from preseason to respond to that data point is a gotcha.

Gotcha is not proving something to be correct.

The Chism discussion was completely relevant since YOU said Hollins would be replaced by better WRs.
Chism was one of those replacements.
You said Chism wasn't an NFL caliber player.
Chism was our second leading WR today.
So is he better than Hollins?
Is he not an NFL caliber player?
Which is it?
You can't have both.

Chism wasn’t an NFL caliber player in August.
He has had a season to develop and when we needed a WR 6 after 2 injuries he made a couple of plays.

I said Diggs, Boutte, Williams and Douglas would take his snaps And they are all better WRs I dint think that’s even debatable.

Anyone who thinks they can compare Chism, who made his first NFL catch today to a veteran is lying.

I don’t know what it is about Hollins that seems to be so triggering to this board.

I made a comment in the game thread last week that after a game where Hollins had twice as many targets as anyone else in a loss, and then a few early in the Baltimore game when the offense seemed to be a little out of sorts, that maybe he was getting a few too many targets. Nothing at all against the player, and really not a big deal comment, and a few people lost their minds.

Now there’s the suggestion that even though it sucks to lose anybody the Pats should be able to replace his production, and we’ve got outrage at that. I don’t get it.

Hollins is bikini to some and a worthless JAG to another. Neither side is accurate.

JAG yes but not worthless.
No. Hes somewhere between a JAG and a WR3 on this team. He does things other WRs on the roster can't which the coaching staff values.

Plus your argument has holes. You need to look at passing routes run and not total snaps. There is a reason why Hollins leads the WRs with 68% of the snaps.

My numbers ARE based upon routes run, not snaps.

I understand they like Hollins. I understand he has qualities. But he is no better than a JAG as a receiver. Drake Maye has elevated his career production per route about 50% and it’s still below the rest of the team.
Fact is when he is on the forks we do worse than when he is not.
Fact is we have other better receivers to take those snaps.
Today Diggs got more PT and had 6/101 in a half. Williams looked good catching 3 passes (Hollins average) in a game we pretty much stopped passing at half.
That’s without Boutte and also with Douglas held back.

Are you saying the coaching staff can’t be wrong?
And perhaps ultimately they weren’t because
1) Diggs was being limited snaps due to the ACL recovery
2) Williams has been working his way into the offense
3) Douglass got himself benched with his early play
4) Chism wasn’t ready and who knew what we would get when we needed him

For all those reasons a JAG who is reliable can carve out a role.
But with those reasons being abated, we are better with the others taking his snaps.

Chism will be the hero welker/edelman chain mover. use what you got.

I'm hopeful that the young WRs we have will offset the eventual loss of Diggs and Hollins. I still can see Chism developing into something a little bit special myself. Dude works hard, runs sharp routes and gets open. Plenty of good receivers have those traits in common.
