No. Hes somewhere between a JAG and a WR3 on this team. He does things other WRs on the roster can't which the coaching staff values.
Plus your argument has holes. You need to look at passing routes run and not total snaps. There is a reason why Hollins leads the WRs with 68% of the snaps.
My numbers ARE based upon routes run, not snaps.
I understand they like Hollins. I understand he has qualities. But he is no better than a JAG as a receiver. Drake Maye has elevated his career production per route about 50% and it’s still below the rest of the team.
Fact is when he is on the forks we do worse than when he is not.
Fact is we have other better receivers to take those snaps.
Today Diggs got more PT and had 6/101 in a half. Williams looked good catching 3 passes (Hollins average) in a game we pretty much stopped passing at half.
That’s without Boutte and also with Douglas held back.
Are you saying the coaching staff can’t be wrong?
And perhaps ultimately they weren’t because
1) Diggs was being limited snaps due to the ACL recovery
2) Williams has been working his way into the offense
3) Douglass got himself benched with his early play
4) Chism wasn’t ready and who knew what we would get when we needed him
For all those reasons a JAG who is reliable can carve out a role.
But with those reasons being abated, we are better with the others taking his snaps.
