That’s a good point. I have great ambivalence about his schtick. It gets old, like a one-trick pony, although I appreciate the creativity. The relentless disrespect is toxic and corrosive however, and exemplifies a mindset that too easily translates to any disagreement including between posters who are both fans of the Patriots expressing their fandom differently. That’s why I see this as essentially the same disrespectful attitude.

A really good point. I just try to find the humor in it when I can, but I completely understand what you’re saying. Negativity does beget negativity.

I’m trying to think back. I think I got into it with him YEARS ago and put him on my ignore list. The only person ever put on it. I went back a while ago a took him off it becuase I couldn’t remember why he was on it to begin with. Guess I am seeing why I did, however….i don’t like putting anyone on ignore.

I think we were all shocked that he’s a youngish guy and not the cantankerous 80 year old man that most of us pictured. The name calling is really odd, especially for someone between the ages of 10 and 70.

Mostly a casual here and probably seen as such, and try to keep all this stuff light, but yeah, mental illness clearly runs rampant with several named posters in here. Having dealt with family members who were bipolar or dealing with other situations, have learned it’s hard to be rational with the irrational.

As noted, it is a huge drag here. It’s one thing to have hysterics in the GDT over a roller coaster of emotion here and there, it’s another to just have cancer of the mouth (text?) that seeps out endlessly and never ends here. Just pure negativity and hatred over the smallest of topics at the quickest whim. Very sad seeing people that assume are sitting at home with nobody who understandably wants to be around them just projecting on anyone and anything as an outlet.

Fortunately the vast majority here are just Pats heads who come here for a little extra info and banter as fans and roll with things. It’s suppose to be fun. None of us control the decisions of the team or the result on field. Why not just enjoy a common interest and have some good times?

More posters are emerging that I remember. He also recently went after the nicest and most easy going poster here @Real fan 02. It really makes you shake your head at how ridiculous he acts.

I've seen it over years and most recently with some posters who are no longer here. There's certainly a reason for his behavior on this board. I'm no Dr. Phil, but for the amount of posters he goes after, you start to see a pattern that it's not them but rather him.

I wasn't shocked at all. He is the epitome of what those internet trash talkers look like. He's that guy that tries to come after you (like he did with me), get clowned, then immediately edited his post realizing how wrong he was and then disappears. He stopped bothering me for years after that, but has suddenly re-emerged trying again for whatever reason.

And the name calling is completely unnecessary. In fact, the constant belittling and frequently telling posters that they "don't know how to evaluate" is absolutely embarrassing to read. I have to remind people that this is a message board and we all here to express what we are seeing. Sorry to break it to everyone, but we all don't know as much as we think we do or else we'd have a job in the NFL and not be posting here. We'd get humbled real quick if we were put on the spot.

Ring6 doesn't agree with 99.9% of anything I say, but he's always been respectful in his disagreement with me and others. I enjoy hearing from all posters that either agree or disagree with my opinions and observations. But I have ZERO tolerance for personal insults. There are certain individuals that take these message boards way too personal.

I have never taken issue with someone "expressing their fandom differently". I have taken issue with people who outright lie, fabricate things or just make statements that have no basis in reality. YOU might think those people should be applauded or praised. I do not.

Plenty of people throw insults at others. It's gone on for years. I call people out for making stupid comments. MG has gone particularly overboard the last 5 years and I'm not the only one who has called him out on his BS.

Don't confuse frustration for anger. They are two completely different feelings. I've only ever posted twice in anger on here in 25+ years.. The last time was with Kontra and I permablocked him for it.

I don't know how many years I've been on here, but I do know how many times I've resorted to personal insults because I disagreed with another poster. Zero.

It's easy to disagree with someone's point of view without having to denigrate them personally. I struggle to understand how people get so worked up over such unimportant nonsense.

Disagreeing with a point and name calling are two completely different things. You should know that the latter only detracts from any point you’re making, but clearly you don’t.

I thought this too, but Onwenu’s PFF grade is pretty good. He’s 8th out of 78 Gs overall (5th in pass blocking and 12th in run blocking). Doesn’t quite match my view of his performance and yes, it’s PFF, but still better than I would expect.
