OT: Bengals Didn't Even Bother Clearing The Seats For Fans Today

I was there. Our section, 227, was completely drifted over. I think the crowd was more than 15k, though. I do recall walking to the stadium through drifts and thinking about turning back.

You are right. There were more than I remembered. It was like 40k who showed up. Like you said, some sections were snow drifts. Others were cleared out.

It was an impossible task to remove the snow and I remember that Kraft hired extra personnel to remove the snow and brought in conveyor belts to move the snow from the aisles.

But Mike Brown is the cheapest owner in the NFL.

I remember people sitting on 4 feet of snow in the stands. That was a difficult situation, the storm ended early Sunday morning, they did the best they could by game time.

My section was shoveled. Others were not. I agree they did their best. It was just impossible to clear out in the time they had.

Sat on a few inches of snow in Harvard stadium, concrete seats, 1970. My wife still complains about that game.

I saw the 1970 Latin - English game on Thanksgiving morning there; my older brother had started at Latin that September. It certainly wasn't warm that day, mostly cloudy and probably never reached 40 I wager, but I don't think there was any snow on the ground yet... Didn't see another game there for about 20 years; the Latin - English game had moved to BU's Nickerson Field the following year...

Yep.

Joe Not Cool is a ****ing selfish, stat-whore Loser (he ALONE is the reason they/we lost in Barfalo last week) and will Never win a championship. Never.
Well, I can see his point. He's been sacked at a higher rate than Andrew Luck was. His ownership is hands-on and has no clue on how to build a roster, other than paying a QB and 2 WRs.

Not saying Burrow is an angel, but it has GOT to be frustrating.

I was at one game on those metal bleachers where we met the target temperature for wind chill and so they gave out cheap (maybe free?) hot chocolate, or at least free refills. I forget how cold that had to be at the time. Late 90s.

I bet if he insisted that, instead of buying him more WRs, they instead dedicated those resources toward the running game, it would've happened already... He & his incompetent HC (who should be Fired at season's end) unfortunately Love themselves some passing attack: the dude is hardly Ever behind Center, almost Always in the shotgun...

And might I add, in general terms, how much I ****ing HATE handoffs from shotgun formation? Gun Runs ****ing SUCK, especially to Stevenson

That it isn’t 32 out of 32 that care about winning is a problem.
That list of owners is motivated to have competitive team to make their money. Insanely rich idiots like Woody are the bigger problem. Not only do they make consistently bad decisions, they throw money at the problem which makes it tougher for the 'family owned' teams.

Sitting kn those aluminum benches on a cold day my ass almost got frostbite. They should have given out those seat warmers pads.

I remember the post blizzard game in Foxboro vs. the Dolphins in 2003 where like 15k of us showed up and there was about four feet of snow that fell the night before into the morning. They weren't able to clear out snow in large sections just because of the shear volumes of snow in the stadium, but there were plenty sections that were completely cleared where everyone who wanted a seat had one.
I was at that game too... we'd been the highest bidder at a charity auction in Maine for 4 club seats.

I took my dad (God rest his soul), and two cousins. The drive down was wild... fortunately back then, I had a old Range Rover with a winch on the front.

The cousins and I had to clear off our seats, as did everyone around us... just a ton of snow. What a game!

Dad had a blast too... he spent the whole game inside the club. "I LOVE this place!" LOL

I remember getting to my seat and having to use my hands to shovel off a mound of snow. I found out the next day on the news that the state troopers at some point turned people around telling them to go home because there was no more parking available.

Why? If you don’t run out of the shotgun, then the defense knows you’re passing when you’re in shotgun formation.

My girlfriend at the time knew folks who had a home in Walpole, where we parked. Behind it was a wooded lot bordering one of the Patriots parking lots. Getting through that wooded lot was an ordeal, with snow hip-deep in places. That's why I mentioned thoughts about turning back. Glad I didn't, it made for a special memory.
