I remember once watching a Midnight Special episode on NBC that also went announcer-less, headlined by The Cars, which kinda fit their group personality perfectly, especially if you ever saw them live...

I had to look him up myself to get the joke, but now it makes sense. Raiola is a Mahomes fanboy who plays QB for Nebraska. Does everything to mimic his idol. Same hair, same facial hair, same headband, same shades, same jersey number, same playing style, even the same pregame ritual. Look up “Raiola Mahomes” on YouTube and you’ll see a bunch of examples. There’s never been a more obvious wannabe.
