One of the many impressive Brady career achievements, never starting a game with his team eliminated from the playoffs.

Even if mahomes is out for the year that will not be on his resume.

Someone mentioned the other day that if you just look at the numbers Mahomes is in a 4 year decline and his 30s are trending closer to Russell Wilson than Tom Brady. I think there's a case there. He was at peak miles better than Wilson so I'm not claiming he's done but by 35 he might not have much left as the athleticism fades.

I don't think you can use the talent around him excuse. The 2009 Patriots had an awful defense and only Randy and Wes on offense. The 2006 Patriots went to the AFCCG with Reche Caldwell and Doug Gabriel as starting receivers. The chiefs have better talent than that

Spot on. I also think is knee is completely shot and will miss all of next season as well. He won't be the same after that.

None of it matters we love to overthink this stuff in the moment, it all comes down to rings at the end of the day with all these discussions.

Mahomes missing the playoffs in 2025 won't come into it, he'll either have the hardware or he won't.

If Mahomes is back in the Super Bowl in the next 2/3 years all the same discussions will start again everywhere and missing the playoffs won't even come into it.

I don't think that Mahomes will ever be anywhere near Brady in the end. But if he does have a second dynasty with three more Super Bowl rings, this year will be forgotten when it comes to his legacy. When everything is said and done, elite players are remembered for their successes and not their failures unless their failures are so bad that they are career defining.

But he has to be worried about this injury and what it means for his future. This injury could knock him out for most of next year depending on what it is. It could be his PCL. That could be career threatening. I do wish him the best and hope it isn't as bad as it looks. And even if it isn't career threatening, he is getting up there in age when it comes to his mobility. He is going to have to learn how to play like a different QB in a few years or he will start to decline.

I was never afraid of the Chiefs getting into the playoffs. They were never that good. But barring the results of this injury, I don't think Mahomes is done. I think he could win another Super Bowl or more in the future.

I don't know if he'll miss the year. Look at Diggs and others. The medical on knees has come so far. But if you're right then your conclusion will be correct too. If he's going to miss the year they should have a fire sale and fix their cap along with getting to the top of the draft.

When the season started absolutely no one was going around saying Mahomes had no weapons, in fact the unanimous talk was “when Rice is back from suspension WATCH OUT.”

It’s because his weapons are fine. The problems with the roster are deeper and include Mahomes just not playing as well week to week

Of course rings is the number one criteria but people compare championship game streaks, division titles, stats, wins....so the never taking the field out of the playoffs is another.

If Athomes doesn’t start another game this year wouldn’t that mean he still hasn’t started a game with team eliminated?

He could have torn his PCL and not just his ACL. A PCL injury can be even career threatening. I hope not, but him missing next year isn't out of the question until we hear about what the injury is.

Mahomes age 28-30:

46 games, 75 TD's, 36 INT's 11,698 Yards

Brady age 43 to 45:

50 Games, 108 TD's. 33 INT, 14,643 Yards

There's a Mariana trench difference between these two. Anyone who thinks Mahomes will age half as good as Brady, hasn't watched Mahomes the last three years, he's been worse every successive year. He's closer to falling out of the Top 10 QB's than following Brady's footsteps.

This also preserves our record of 8 consecutive conference title game appearances from 2011 to 2018. Chiefs had one going from 2018 to last years conference title game for a total of 7.

King Brady is an anomaly. He really was incredible.

The Chiefs are at the crossroads NE was at in 2010. Had NE not drafted Gronk, they weren't going to win another Super Bowl. Chiefs need to find their "Gronk".

Walking doesn't mean much here; Brady walked off under his own power after tearing his ACL.
And he was in the tunnel with a brace throwing and moving, asking to be put back in. Thats the Brady mentality for you imo it's nearly unmatched.

I really liked 2009, 2010, AND 2011 drafts.
