Pats could've taken the crown from the king today at home. A loss next week and the noose tightens around Mayes neck and he gets branded a guy who can't win a big game. 98.5 already starting the Maye can't bring the team back talk...but how could you argue? Today was really bad and I think it tells us something that mcdaniels didn't trust Maye with the game...23 passes vs 25 runs
They threw almost on every play in second half.

If the Patriots lose to Miami/Jets. One of them. And Buffalo wins out, Buffalo wins the division.

Division records would be a wash

But the Patriots would have four losses in the conference to the Bills three.

If the Pats beat the Jets and Miami and lose to the Ravens, they win the division, even if The Bills win out. The Bills would have two division losses and the Pats 1.

Correct. My post got cut out somehow.

FWIW, one thing worth noting: the Patriots, after final workouts, felt that Spillane would be available in an "emergency."

Unbelievable overreactions here. We lost by a few points against a perennial contender with the best QB in the league.

We won the first half. They won the second and won the game by four points. Pull yourselves together. Ridiculous. A lot of fans here got ahead of themselves with all the championship stuff. This is a team in a rebuild, essentially in the first year of a rebuild, and they have exceeded every reasonable expectation. Maybe a little gratitude and perspective would not be out of order.

Last week he was 24/31/282
I forgot that game.

Ok he has been good. But his play isn't what it was. Which is understandable. He was doing historic things.

He needs to run more and the defense needs guys back. Really bad.

Not sure why Maye is not more clutch in pressure situations.
He seems poised and calm.
Maybe in those situations defenses are giving very different looks and he is not reading the defenses well?

This was also the biggest comeback a road team ever had at Gillette. It's not nothing either. Truth is this game is similar to a lot of what we've seen this year. Team is boom and bust.

I don't understand the second half struggles. It's been going on most of the season.

And when he has, he has failed every time
So pop Douglass running backward, and having a pass deflected today defines him?

Cook didn't run for 6 yards a pop the first game
It isn’t the reason they lost, but I sure hope Spillane & Williams in January.

The last time the Patriots lost before today the Red Sox were still playing.

No one is saying Maye sucks. What I and others are saying is that thus far Drake Maye lacks the clutch gene when you need to score with the team behind in the 4th.
Justin Herbert had FIVE 4th quarter comebacks his second year. Josh Allen had FOUR his second year, Mahomes had 2....Maye is 0-3 this year

He needs to experience those moments right
