So I was watching the Philly/SD game today on the NFL networks replay because I missed it yesterday wanted to see the Hurts double turnover. I heard about it and wanted to see it live. They just edited it out. WTF? I can understand when they edit out gruesome injuries, but now they're just going to censor plays they don't want people to see? What's next? Bad calls that make the refs look bad?

They already do that in the stadiums.

I get the joke, and it's funny and all, but this set's a bad precedent. Here you have the flagship network for the league literally censoring games. They're insinuating they're replaying the broadcast but editing it.

Been doing that for years. Waay back when used to pay for the DTV satellite I had NFLN. I'd be watching an old Pats playoff game and they would just interrupt and cut to news about some 3rd round running back. They ****ing suck.

One of my favorites was during the 2001 AFCCG vs Pittsburgh. There was a shot right before going to commercial of the Steelers fans waving towels and then a guy flipped off the camera. It was hilarious.

I get that games get edited. This is why I was disapointed with the 3 games to glory. I waited years to finally get it and find out that the 3 games they advertised were pretty much high lights of the 3 games. But, this is a different kind of editing. If memory serves (and maybe its not) NFL network would edit out - time outs, Commentary, Replays, and injuries. The game I just saw went from the end of the 1st qtr to about 9 minutes into the 2nd in an instant. That's not time outs, Commentary, Replays, and injuries. That's not editing out fluff to gain more advert time. That's censoring content they find unflattering to the product. That's the difference I see.

I’m wondering do you remember if the replay you were watching was 2 or 3 hours long? I know sometimes they show replays and it’s an edited version that they show in two hours.

It was one of the biggest plays of the entire weekend, not just the game.

I understand the need to compress to fit a certain allotment of time, but to edit this play out is some major gaslighting.

It must be on youtube or someplace on the web.

Try a Giants messageboard.

I saw the replay on you tube that someone posted in the game day thread here. It was only about 30 seconds long. I looked at the clock and saw it was just after 3 so I was like cool ,, that's when NFL network does the replay of the Monday night game. I put it on and it was about half way through the 1st quarter and I thought cool I wanna see this in real time to see the reaction of the commentators. Watched about a half hour of it and the 1st qtr ended . It went to commercial then as Madden would say "boom" it skipped to like 9 minutes into the 2nd with the commentator talking about a turnover. They skipped the whole drive or at least 4 or 5minutes of the 2nd qtr. I then just shut it never to watch NFL network again.

ESPN sucks too.

Remember when ESPN would show the highlights of every game on Monday all day? By "highlights" I mean every important play of every game? It was like a condensed version of watching "red zone" all day in 30 minutes and they did it on the hour . Now they show like 2 plays a game during fantasy football breaks and it's off to a commercial. Pepperidge farm remembers. I know I'm just an old guy yelling at the clouds here, But I ****in miss that. I don't think they do it anymore because every time I tune in it's some fantasy football/ soap oprea panal show.

The NFL putting 10-15 minute highlights of games on YouTube is what killed Chris Berman's show ESPN "Primetime". I loved watching it Sunday Night after all the games were over growing up. It's end was inevitable.

I'll catch these highlights often, especially Sunday mornings, catching up on the NCAA games from out of market.

To be fair, that comedy of errors was included in the replay that aired last night. I had it on while multitasking but was paying attention specifically because of this thread, and was surprised that the full sequence of hot potato football was included. It happened with about 8:31 remaining in the second quarter. Still a wild play. And apparently not fully censored.

The League is a piece of ****. One of the most unethical/immoral machines in existance.
The sooner you realize this, the better you understand it.

Someone needs to learn what the word "censoring" actually means.
