Patriots Injury News Will Campbell Week 12 Injury [11/26 update: Placed on IR]

One thing we know McDaniels scheme won't leave Lowe on an Island. Henry - Hooper and our RB's are going to have to help a lot. Even though Rham is shaky in short yardage situations: he's not in the Blocking department.
Rham is a very good blocker.

It’s one of the reasons the Vikes moved off Bradbury. He is an okay center, but he’s not going to be a great mauling run-blocking one. And that makes it hard to run up the gut in these short yardage runs. I think Wilson will be better once we’re ready to move him over.
Bradbury was very cheap too so; even if we keep him on as back-up: he would give us quality dept. That said I could see us Drafting a Guard early Day 2 if the situation presents itself.

Thank the gods! Let him rest for the playoffs.

Yeah he's going have to chip on Lowe's side a lot: same for our TE's.
It will be interesting to see how much help Lowe gets. I’ll be watching that from the get-go.

That's fine. Rest up. As long as he's ready to go when the playoffs start.
Timeline now means that he could be eligible to return for the Miami game, if needed. I’m sure the decision there will depend on if he’s ready, plus how meaningful the game is, and what we’re still playing for.

Game will be on 1/4, which means he would have had exactly 6 weeks of recovery time from time of injury. WC game puts it at 7 weeks, Divisonal at 8.

I gather that should be enough time for his type of injury, barring setback?

I don't worry about Guards so much because they have the Center between them. The Tackles on the other hand especially Left: that's another story.

We are going to know in a hurry if Lowe will be more of the same. Hopefully better coaching has made a difference.
His biggest issues were technique. He was clutching and grabbing instead of using proper technique, getting to the spot and executing a block. Hopefully Marones coaching but also watching Campbell who is technically sound will sink in, and we will see less pressure and holding penalties. God help us with the false starts.

I also wouldn’t be surprised to find out Bryant is challenging him for PT, so if we see 2024 Lowe we may not see him for long.

@jmt57 wanna update the thread title to include 66's trip to the IR?

I still have night terror freeze frames in my mind of Lowe giving up "first step - total whiff - .5 sec sacks" on Maye.
He watches more DE backsides in action than Carl Nassib.
I'm not one of these believers in the tooth fairy that think this coaching staff can suddenly turn Lowe into a good starter for 4 games.

It's takes heck of a lot more than long arms to be effective in this league...Lowe more than looks the part pass the eyeballs test and all too. Its the Player vs player Test we are more concerned about. If Lowe holds it down and we are still playing at a high level: this Team will go all the way when Will Campbell comes back.

Well we have Bryant and Mumford if Vederian Lowe's game go South quickly.

He’s physically gifted enough to play the position. His problem has been technique and desire.

hoping they will go to knee braces. It helps and does not take efficiency out for OLs.

I have complete confidence in Vrabel in that he will have these guys fighting hard the next 5 games. If we make the playoffs, and Campbell is ready, that would be awesome. Lowe will most likely get help from TEs or extra linemen lined up as TEs.

Brown played a lot at center last year for us, so he knows the schemes of the OLine, so I think he will be ok at LG.

Maye had them both on his line last year, so I think he’ll do ok with them playing. This may actually help Maye and someone like Douglas, in that Maye might have to get rid of the ball fast, so it’ll be a skill added to his repertoire, because he’s not great at getting rid of the ball fast. It’ll help Douglas too to play that Edelman/Welker/Brown role more like they did. Quick, short throws.

It sucks losing our rookie guard and tackle, but I have faith they can get through this until they come back. I think McDaniels will scheme the offense up until they come back.

Also I think Running from now is going to be behind Michael Onwenu and Morgan Moses. Let's not kid ourselves on that now very weak Left Side.

Could be right but I would t be surprised if Josh calls running plays to the left right off the bat…because it’s unexpected. It won’t last long but I think we’ll see some in the 1st 10-15 plays.
