Does Burrow catch passes? Does Burrow block? Not worried. If Burrow and Higgins can beat us then we deserve to lose.

I don't know why Burrow wouldn't play at this point. And he still has the ability to carve up a defense. Especially with our suspect pass defense. Sure, Chase out helps us a lot, but Gesicki seems to be back too - and we know TEs (especially good route runners & pass catchers) can really torch our D for some reason. I just hope our D reinforcements (Elliss, Swinson, Farmer) can improve the pressure on him.

I'm actually most excited to see Boutte back. I think he should solidify the receiving group in a more well-rounded way than Williams can. It makes Diggs & Hollins more versatile as well.
Bengals may score around 27pts, but I hope our O can keep up with the likes of the Jets - who scored 39 on them!!

I have said that there should be 2 key things the Pats should be concentrating on these last 6 games. 1. Getting the bye, and 2. preparing for the Playoffs.

EVERY team we play in the playoffs will be good. Teams with good QB's, highly rated WR's and defenses no one can score on. I don't see Burrow as a threat, but rather just another test we have to pass to get to where we want to go. And the good thing about tests is, you always learn from them, even if you don't get all the questions right.

Anyone who tries to sell that Burrow coming back is no big deal isn’t being honest with themselves.

We’ve learned it first hand just how much elite QB play elevates a roster.

We need to prove we can win this regardless, but it’s a much tougher matchup than it was just a few days ago.

The Pats total defense is ranked 8th, the Bengals are 32nd. The Pats are 17th against the pass, the Bengals are 31st. The Pats are 1st against the run, the Bengals are 32nd.

The Pats total offense is ranked 9th, the Bengals 23rd. The Pats are ranked 7th in passing, the Bengals are 14th. And even rushing.....The Pats are 20th and the Bengals are 30th.

Joe Burrow or not this is a game the Pats should win.

I agree. I think the biggest takeaway now is that we can much less afford to play a C level game.

An elite QB like Burrow will take advantage of that.

Burrow is the type of QB that can, and has won games the Bengals had no right winning going off stats.
Now a big question will be how effective he can be coming off such a long layoff.
You’re 100% correct tho, the game is definitely much tougher if he plays

So scared of the Boogiman Joe Burrow Not!!

Getting Hooper, Boutte and Rham back this week would be a nice bump in the weapons to spread the ball around. It opens the door for the Pats to attack a pretty bad defense in many different ways and will create a lot of confusion for them.
Drake Maye 450yds passing on Sunday: a move that should permanently cement the MVP.

I really really hope TE C.J. Dippre can block: because if we go There TE's one WR and RB that's a Formation we could run and pass from with success.

We need to take advantage of Burrow's willingness to take a sack and his tendency to hold onto the ball too long.

With Chase out, it really slows down their offense. When Higgins was without Chase, they had Boyd who had 800 yards himself, and AJ Green, albeit coming back for injury, but still accounting for 400 yards and demanding coverage. They had Joe Mixon and Giovanni Bernard. They now have Iosivas behind Higgins, who is not really much. Brown is running behind a worse OL and not as good as Mixon, something I didn't expect (most fans were happy to see Mixon go lol).

This is the price you pay for a top-heavy offense/unit. Not as much depth in their skill positions as the last time Higgins was WR1. They also still only won 4 games that season.

Cincy's running game isn't exactly a threat.

Chase Brown is their lead back. Don't know a lot about him but his numbers look half decent.

Burrow can be mistake prone. The defense will have their takeaway chances I think.

I remember Marcus Jones getting a pick 6 off him
