Obviously. But sports fan in BOS have this weird obsession that every front office needs to be a power struggle where the coach and GM are in constant conflict.
There are way too many people who think the whole world is like Game of Thrones and other Hollywood fiction. The idea that cooperation instead of competition can be an operating principle is totally subverted by dramatic entertainment scripts.

I don't think that's an issue. I think Wolf sees his job as getting the guys Vrabel wants, not picking players to foist on Vrabel.
I think that Wolf has been TOLD what the pecking order actually is and if he wants to stick around he'll do things Vrabel's way..

I get the sense that Wolf wants to be a team guy, which is fine. I prefer him having someone like Cowden, guiding the search for what Vrabel's looking for in players, and letting Wolf handle the admin of making sure the scouts are where they're supposed to be and the contracts are drawn up right. There's room for everyone to contribute to their strengths.

I don't think Wolf has an ego problem. Even though he still has the final say technically I think he understood from the minute Vrabel was hired that it is Vrabel's team and his job is to help Vrabel build the team he wants to coach. Vrabel has final say in reality, and that's the way it should be.And if they want to keep this front office together they would be wise to elevate Cowden to GM and pretend that he's now in charge, that way no NJ other team can pilfer him, and nothing would actually change as Vrabel would still be in charge, and. Cowden and Wolf would both continue in their current roles.

Considering where Denver was when he showed up, especially with their cap, I think he's done a great job turning that team around.

Payton is a legit HoF level coach. Two things came to mind when I read your post. OFC Payton knows how to coach under onerous cap constraints, he worked wonders under Mickey Loomis the worst GM at cap management since it came into being. Second, not quite as flattering for Payton, he went to Denver in part because Russell Wilson was there and created a large part of Denver's cap issues dumping the guy he wanted to coach.

Ironic you say?
I agree

I thought Darnold was terrific coming out of USC. Don't know why it took him so long to settle in. Maybe the taint of that NYJ coaching.

Jete stank, the danger is real

Calvin Ridley done for the year with a broken leg.

Between Ridley, Aiyuk, and Godwin, the Pats really dodged potentially self-inflicted wounds the last 2 years. We’re lucky Diggs was the one who ultimately accepted their offer.
