This will be the toughest test our OL will have to face (and Maye too). From what I've read, when the Pats line up they will be seeing at a MINIMUM, 5 men on the LOS and quite often 6. Tampa has a strong secondary and good S's and a top CB of their own.
Buc's HC is Todd Bowles, who was a Jets DC (under Ryan) and HC, and is very familiar with Josh and his offense over the years. So, so expect to see it look very crowded on the LOS. They want to make the QB nervous and want to play fast. They know a heavy rush is coming, but they don't know from where.
They expect Vita Vea to shut down runs up the middle, and LB's to fill holes of the gaps that are created when teams are forced to double team him. They invite you to run wide because their edge guys and LB's are all fast but on the small side. Their LB's are much like ours, good against the run and weaker vs the pass. So along with this being an away game and a hostile crowd, Drake and his boys will have to face a top 5 defense without 2 of its top offensive threats.
Now I don't mean to be a wet blanket on the Pats hype fest and all the good time zone chat, but there is a SERIOUS challenge for the Pats tomorrow, and Drake will need to take his game to a higher level if he wants the Pats to continue this streak.
So, I will once again be calling for the Pats to run (on occasion) a hurry up offense to wear out the DL and keep the defense off balance and not allow them to set up their complex blitz schemes.
I would like to see 2 or 3 designed QB runs. Use Maye's speed and size get to the outside with a blocking advantage.
I am very interested to see how they plan to pass block against Bowles' blitz schemes and 5- and 6-man rushes. Will they man block it, or slide to one side or another. Will the half roll the QB (setting up behind the OT, rather than the C) to slow the backside pressure and get the ball out quicker.
This is going to be a very strategic, coach driven game, with both sides very scheme driven to attack their opponent's strengths.
