NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION 2025 Week 10 TNF: Raiders at Broncos

People underestimating their defence, offense is weak but the defence keeps coming back for more.

They’ve got 10 days to recover before the chiefs come to town so the Chiefs bye is rendered meaningless. They will hang in that game.
Who's underestimating their D?
Their O is not good enough, often enough.
KC is going to beat them....bad.

Let’s see, KC will have to get the ball out quickly and that doesn’t give the likes of rice and worthy time to get downfield. Broncos D is the best in the league imo, assuming anyone will beat them, nevermind easily, means underestimating them.

Now watch KC drop a 40 burger next week and make me look stupid…

If Denver's defense ever has an off day against a great team, the Broncos are in trouble. That offense won't bail them out.

We all agree on that.

Nobody is painting the broncos as a SB contender. But they have kept themselves in every single game despite a **** offense. Don’t see why that won’t continue the rest of the season.

I don't like KC, but they are going to take Denver to the woodshed.
Denver at least pulling one of the games would be massive for their chances to win the division.

I don’t think they’re very good, but they somehow keep winning.

do Wilson and Nix just suck that bad or is Brees slightly better than he gets credit for (Sean Payton related)

Well, THAT game just set offensive football back about 2 decades or more. Here's what I think.

1. Oakland is in a bad situation. They are a bad team that is also injured. What was it they had 3 backup OLmen? Geno never had a chance.

2. The Denver offense is mediocre, but the defense is legit and maybe more than that.

3. Nix is not a bum, but he doesn't seem to be a guy that can carry an offense, at least not at this stage of his career. He's a guy that manage a good offense and not lose you games. He's tough, smart, and can move around enough to that you have to account for that. He is NOT Drake Maye.

4. I wouldn't mind seeing this team in the Playoffs, even in Denver. I think they are this year's Washington. Winning a lot of close games and having a LOT of things go right for them. I certainly would rather play them than the Ravens.

5. Geno Smith is one tough mother****er. But we would have beaten this version of the Raiders by 30

Its a fools errand to regret that which has already come to pass, but when you look at who we lost to and how we lost... SMH. I don't for a minute think we would have a perfeect season, far from it but we could easily be 9-0. That being said, signs are there that we we may have a bump or two in the road ahead. I hope it doesnt turn into a repeat of 2019. 8-0 dissolved pretty quickly into the end of an era. Buckle up.

Two things can be true at once. Brees is starting to and will become more underrated as time goes on. Brees is a top 10 QB for me.

Well, THAT game just set offensive football back about 2 decades or more.

One thing about that: the NFL in 2025 is woefully unbalanced rules-wise/enforcement-wise in favor of offense. I find a good old-fashioned defensive struggle refreshing. When you have quarterbacks league wide with completion rates approaching 70 percent, things are seriously out of whack. Basketball in cleats a la last Sunday's 47-42 Bears-Bengals fiasco doesn't interest me.

All I'll say is if Maye produced Nix'x stat line, then people on here would be starting another "Is Maye THE guy?" thread. Crikey.

That game was 2 teams trying hard to lose. Raiders tried harder. It's, penalties, blocked punts, stupid mistakes. Sloppy.

3. Nix is not a bun
Yeah he is. On tape he stinks, advanced analytics he stinks. Broncos are wasting a Super Bowl roster with a bad QB.
Bo NIx has the best pass blocking line in the NFL, face less pressure than any QB. Has a top play caller. With all that:

-Before last night he was completing 41% of passes longer than 9 yards. 67% for Maye.
-He's ranked 26th on PFF for QB's. 25th in Passer Rating, 19th in QBR, 31st in yards per pass thrown. I could go on all day with his crappy analytics.

He doesn't take sacks and can complete passes near the line of scrimmage. He can scramble a bit. That's the complete list of what he is good at.
He'll be 26 just after the season with 5 years of college and 2 years for NFL. Not the kind of guy that makes a sudden jump.
Broncos would be better with Mac Jones.

what is your top 10?

Well i don't count guys before the super bowl era as the tape of them isn't good and the game was very different back then.

How i do my top 10 is i ask this question. Who is the most likely to win me a super bowl? That means who will get me to the playoffs, play well there and be clutch in big moments. Of course stats, wins, rings, and certain X factors are part of all of this.. but they are all used in the service of trying to answer this question. Now you don't need to win automatically to be ranked, but proof of concept (multiple times even) can be a huge plus. But I don't just count rings either.

#1 Brady
#2 Montana
#3 Mahomes
#4 Staubach
#5 Elway
#6 Unitas
#7 Manning
#8 Starr
#9 Brees - Realistically Rodgers should be over Brees but he is just so bad in the locker room, and Brees tends to be more clutch.
#10 Rodgers
HM - Starr, Young

Those are the 12 I think really stand above the rest.

I know some people will freak about about putting Mahomes that high already. But is sample size or more or less as big as Staubach, Starr and Young who people put up on all time list. And he has done more than all of them.

It's funny hearing how we've had a easy cupcake, tomato can schedule but then you look at the Broncos who you don't hear a peep about their schedule

which 7 of their 8 wins have been

3-6 Jake Browning led Bengals
2-7 Raiders by 3 points
3-5 Davis Mills led Texans by 3 points
1-7 Jets
2-7 Giants by 1 point
1-8 Titans by 1 score
Cowboys team that has 3 wins vs Giants, Jets and Commanders

They got 1 win vs a good team on the road and what came out of that came was the Eagles got hosed by the refs

Denver finds a way to win, so I will give them credit for that, and their D is very legit.
I just see KC coming in there and pounding them.
Maybe I’ll be the one that looks silly.

I haven’t seen many Denver games this year, I was surprised at how bad Nix looked, he seems more accurate outside the pocket than inside the pocket, inside the pocket his foot work is awful,

I hate to say it but I think the Chiefs will win the division.

100%.
I said the same thing when the Chiefs were 1 or 2 games under .500.
I think it starts next week when KC goes into Denver and dog walks them up and down the field.
