Remember how many times the outsiders said that the Pats Dynasty was ovah?

Just about every time the Pats proved them wrong. All KC needs to do is reach the postseason and then its a whole new season. They can win in the Buffalo cold - been there and done that - and anywhere else when you have a QB playing at another level.

Overpay. You get a good, not great player for half a year... They were not going to franchise him. You do have he inside track on signing him next year which is important. But i don't like it... I think a 4th alone is still a bit much. But without the 6th also you can MAYBE swallow it even though it is an over pay. While a 6th isn't typical a valuable pick it just add insult too injury too much on a guy who is a #2 WR you need to pay now and next year.'

That being said of the deals i've seen, this is the best one so far and is closest to even. So good on the Jags for getting the best deal so far.

I didn't realize how many draft picks JAX has even after last year's first round trade up. They had 13 before the Meyers trade and still have 11 picks.

Jacoby Meyers was a UDFA with limited athletic explosiveness who turned himself into a solid possession receiver. Credit to him, but not someone you overspend for in FA, or give up significant draft capital, unless you are desperate.

As odd as it sounds, he's not a good fit for NE right now.

He wants to hit 1000 yards again this year and get a big contract.

That's not happening in LV for talent reasons - but it's not going to happen in NE because Maye spreads the ball so much. Anyone wanting to be a or THE featured receiver is not going to be happy in NE - and beyond that we don't need to mess up some good chemistry.

Meanwhile Trevor Lawrence can really use some additional targets - Jax makes the Pats look loaded at WR

This is sort of sour grapes. He’s been a very productive WR in Josh McDaniels offensives with far less talented QB than Drake. I would have turned backflips to see him back here.

Agree the price may have gotten too high. Be delighted to see him back here next year after the Jaguars figure out the problem isn’t WR talent

Jax and Meyers are good fits for each other. Lawrence may be overrated, but he’s the best QB Meyers has had since Brady, and Meyers will get a ton of targets.

The move is otherwise inconsequential. Jags will be fighting with the Chargers and Ravens for one spot. The odds are not in their favor.
