WILLIAMS

But I was making a general statement. JAX signed someone to help. We signed a PS player who may not be here next week. PHI bring in players likely to contribute. We sign Murphy and Saunders.

Despite all your years on this board, you still haven't figured out what it means to build a TEAM versus collecting talent.

Jax TRADED for Myers, giving up a 4th and 6th. The Pats are being judicious with this picks and trying to ensure they can improve the team both in the short term and long term.

He actually is pretty speedy, timed poorly at the combine, but consistently got separation and burned guys deep in college. And was used as a punt returner at Colorado, had a few punt return TDs. Had a 4.50 forty, which is faster than Bourne/Meyers, had a sub 7.00 three cone, a decent vert (36.5).

I really don’t know why he fell so low, he definitely had some good games in college.
4.5 electronically timed at the combine. Good speed, but nothing special. Kendrick Bourne type athlete.

Williams barely plays. Meyers isn’t going somewhere to ride the pine.

Now can you explain why they would not trade a fifth for Dramont Jones?
How do you know they didn't try? YOU DON'T. Go whine somewhere else. FFS. As others mentioned, there is animosity between the Titans Owner and Vrabel. She could have nixed the deal to the Pats.

a little reel

It's Gloria Swanson, so I was deceived into thinking it a swan.

She was a famous movie actress, and also famous as JFK's father's mistress.

The counter-point is this kind of thinking is what leads a team to give up a 2nd for Mo Sanu.

Back then it was the end of the Dynasty and the thought was maybe adding one more WR would be enough to take us deep into the playoffs.

Now IMO we're at the beginning of the next Dynasty so let's be conservative when it comes to draft capital.
That was always a terrible trade, even in the moment because Mo Sanu was worth nothing more than 5th rd pick.

Especially terrible since the 49ers only gave up a 3rd and a 4th rd pick to get the better Emmanuel Sanders plus a 5th rd pick at the same time

Ponder has been active the past few games and really has been unnoticeable.
He plays almost exclusively special teams… get him some defensive snaps, cut him loose.

Eagles 2025
Chiefs 2025
Ravens 2025
Bills 2025
Seahawks 2025

For example
Well, the Pats only played one of those teams, and they are 1-0.... so.... And the point is, you don't have to be a juggernaut to win, you just need to be playing well at the right time. By your philosophy 90% of the NFL should just throw in the towel. I hope you aren't like that in your real life. Makes for a miserable existence.

Yeah I know WR wasn't their problem...after Brady: Meyers have a been unlucky with $hitty QB's.
He could have the best QB in the league, he’s still going to be slow and average about 800-900 yards a season. Good possession receiver but getting older and I wouldn’t bench the young up and comers for him.

Eagles 2025
Chiefs 2025
Ravens 2025
Bills 2025
Seahawks 2025

For example
You think that the 2025 Ravens, at 3-5, are serious contenders? *ROFLMAO*
The Chiefs are not serious contenders in 2025. They're going to be lucky if they can make it out of their division.

I’ve been reading that Amy Adams Strunk won’t trade with the Patriots. Interesting timing with the Pollard rumor.

"Some depth pieces"? We'll see. I'm fine with using a 4th and 6th for depth pieces. This will NOT disrupt the team "long-term vision".

OK, 3 1/2 more hours.
==================
Will we acquire a player?
Will we trade away another depth piece?
Good points. On Jennings is senseless to move him.. where he's still a good edge setter and has a purpose in the rotation.. a depth piece to help out on the edges is i feel more of a need now..

Ponder has had 28 defensive snaps over the last 3 weeks, in total. He's a bottom of the Roster rotation Edge guy who was very raw coming out of college. His primary snaps are on special teams, where he's averaging 15 snaps each game.

We have 4-year window when we have Maye's rookie contract. I simply don't understand why at 7-2 we should focus on next year. This is Year One OF THE PLAYOFFS. Let's make the most of it.

I suggest that we improve the team this year. Apparently, you suggest that we focus on 2026 or 2027.
==============================
I'm fine with using a draft choice or even two to improve the team's chances to go deep into the playoffs. You seem to think that PHI's approach is wrong. We could improve the team at DE, EDGE, CB, S, RB, TE or WR. I'm NOT concerned with WHERE Vrabel chooses to improve the team.

I would note that there has been lots of action since the cut to a 53-man roster. IMO, no addition has been a contributor except Tavai. The emphasis has been on moving on from players rather than acquiring players. Woods is a bit of an exception as our #4 CB.

Perhaps Murphy will contribute more, or not.
