So Micro Penix is complaining that he thinks the Pats D clapped and made the Falcons snap the ball wrong and that made him intentionally ground the ball, because no Patriots opponent has agency over outcomes if they lose because they get cheated one way or another and it's not faiiiiir.

Let me the first to call this a Penix move. To his credit, Coach Rahim Norris, though not exactly disavowing the accusation, at least had the presence of mind to just say "good job by them."

As for the Pats take,

After the game, Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams expressed surprise about the accusations of his team clapping to prompt an early snap. “Who was clapping? Did it look like I was clapping?” the veteran defender said. “I’m going to go watch and see who was clapping. I didn’t hear any clapping. I’m looking at the ball. The ball moves, I’m gone.”

But the whining can only be a positive sign.

Penix ... the clap ... This invites all sorts of naughty wordplay.

He should’ve thrown like 3 picks yesterday, lucky it even came to that last drive

We already know that physical reality is no obstacle to other fanbases and the two digit IQ nepo-nephew nitwits at NYJFL HQ making cheating accusations against the Pats. You could have a camera on the hands each of the 11 Pats on the field showing nothing and the accusers would come back with "they clacked their teeth" or "clapped their butt cheeks."

This era of NFL players are bunch of complainers. The QB clap cadence is so hideous to watch. The Goff hand gesture is dumb as well. Then you have the G's tomahawk chop which is also annoying. Glad the Pats don't do that crap.

Go back to days where the QB could only comminute with the C to snap the ball. The NFL continues to dumb down the game for offensive players and allow them to cheat on every play.

It's fair to call us out if we did that but the video evidence seems to refute his claim which means instead of valid criticism he's being a whiny brat lacking accountability for his and team's own mess up.

Already wasted more time/effort than this nonsense merited in the post game thread. TBF Penix said Neuzil (center) told him he heard a clap, he never said he heard it. Look at the damn video, no Patriot within earshot of the center is clapping:

FFS this is moronic, enough already

This is 2d down video. I thought they meant the 4th down, the one where Penix walks half way up to the center.

This is the play he took the intentional grounding on, it is 100% the play in question
F'n crazy this is getting any traction at all beyond the games that can be played off the QB's name. It's like friggin' grade school with that ****.

Hawkins was clapping towards Davis and stopped before the snap.

It's not this era. Everyone complains. The Steelers in 04 never shut up about Spygate. Bettis was on tv a year later whining about being cheated or something like he didn't get bailed out a year later to his only ring

It was the 12th man that was clapping and making a TON of noise.

But what do you expect at Foxboro?

Patriots fans refuse to do the honorable thing and remain quiet when Penix and Coach Norris are trying to concentrate. There will be an NFL investigation into such misbehavior by the fans.

Amazingly I'm still seeing coordinators on the sidelines covering their mouths when calling in plays.

I thought Goodell ended the practice of stealing signals YEARS ago?! I guess not.

This is a **** move by Penix.
