Big test coming up next week. Honestly, probably the end of our streak, but gotta play the game first to see.

Not the kind of message you want sent to the offense taking a knee at our 30 with over a minute before half.

The fumble happened with 30 seconds left in the half, not over a minute.

FWIW, the crowd around me was going crazy when they went for it there. Quite a few were yelling, "What the hell are they doing" or yelling "Take a knee".

the maye int in third quarter was a trapped ball! did you guys see the one replay before the break!? no challenge or review?

All turnovers are automatically reviewed... in New York.

And how did that work out for them?

Poorly, Captain Obvious.

But that doesn't mean it wasn't the right thing to do.

People on the GDT were clamoring for the Pats to go for 6 right up to the fumble. No one was interested in running out the clock. And they were right.

Yep. You put the boot on their throat every chance you get. Had they scored there, and again when the second half opened the game would have been over.

Technically neither Maye or Henry are in the wrong here. Maye is thinking to split the seam on the cover 2 zone, and Henry is seeing a single high safety come over and continues his dig across which is also correct. This is just one of those things that both will make a note of, and chose what they will prioritize next time it happens.

If they go in and beat Tampa Sunday, does that change your mind?
Probably safe to say Boutte will be out Sunday huge blow to the offense. Williams is starting become frustrating.. he does nothing of impact when he's in the field. We can call ourselves contenders this season. I also believe the reason why we place so much zone is Vrabel doesn't fully trust the safety play.

Barmore and Williams are beast. But need some edge pressure to take a load of them.

Your thoughts?

Falcon fans want the HC and GM fired prior to yesterdays game.

What? All I saw was a team that's loaded with talent and no quit. As the game went on the Falcons got stronger and more confident that they could shutdown Maye. London is almost unstoppable and even when Gonzo had textbook coverage London came down with the ball. Robinson is one hell of a WR. Falcons D is too legit to quit.

The Pats Dynasty is not back. Come down from the roof before its too late. NE is winning many of these games due to the other team beating themselves - Penix intentional grounding, hit the post on the PAT, leaving Henry not covered to close out the game.

Tampa wont make those same blunders and the Pats will lose if they don't bring the A game.

I'm not 100% sure Boutte's going to necessarily be out. He was on the sideline the entire game. Standing.

Maybe he will be, my guess is more there will be injury report shenanigans.

Tampa's Back 7 is not scary, and really the only healthy player they have that scares me on defense is Vita Vea. I can just see him bulldozing Bradbury/Onwenu double-teams the entire game.

Wirfs is playing hurt, I see Chaisson having another good game pressing the pocket. Landry looked healthy for the first time in a couple of weeks. Mayfield's no bum, so the defense will have to be locked in, but push the pocket, get him jumpy, he does make mistakes. And I think he's a little more banged up than anyone's letting on, although coming off the bye week we'll see how they do.

I think we play a lot of zone so we can blitz more, and so the linebackers don't get isolated as much in man coverage.

Tampa's a good team. But this isn't the automatic loss everyone (including me) had on their schedule. Vegas agrees, Bucs only favored by 2.5.

Attack with the run on the perimeter, throws on the perimeter, take your shots, should be ok.

I am scared of Vita Vea though, that's a terrible matchup for us.

Tampa is minus thier best players in Godwin and Evans. Even is Godwin does play he's not the same player.

London was held in check for most of the game. His TDs were on 5ft Marcus and 20M a year CB Davis.

The 50/50 ball gonzo had great coverage London was fortunate to come down with it.

I will continue to say this. The zone coverages aren't helping the secondary. It reminds me of the Patricia defenses.

Gonzo, Surtain the 2nd, and Stingley Jr. Are the 3 best man CBs in the game.

They didn't become all pros for thier zone coverage abilities.

The difference here between the 2021 season with the post bye week meltdown is the QB and coaching won't allow for that to happen.

That video cuts in way too late. I wanted to see if the RG tapped him too early.

And that clapping accusation is complete ********. Kinda hard to clap when you're in three point stance.
Exactly which Pop Warner football teams use AUDIO-based signals at ab[an] AWAY GAME.
Share that joint please, it’s good ****.

It looks pretty obvious (to me anyway) that the qb was calling an alert and the center was still on the original snap count

Patricia's defenses weren't bad at all. Mangini's defense was ****ing terrible.
They're getting better with the zone, Hawkins is starting to play like he belongs on an NFL field. With QBs who can run, playing zone is usually a pretty good idea. Penix (like Cam Ward) doesn't like to run, but /can/ run. Mayfield can run too, but he has zone coverage figured out, so they're going to have to mix some stuff up.

Here's how I'd approach things the next few weeks:

- Next week, rest a few more guys than usual. You are going against a team in Tampa that you'd likely have a hard time beating on a normal day. They are an NFC opponent who mean very little for you in the standings. Give some guys nursing things some extra time, because...
- You then have to play on a short week, Thursday night against the Jets. At least it's at home, and it's the Jets. I'd spend some of the Bucs week game-planning for this game to make sure you're completely ready to ensure a win - conference opponent, division opponent, etc.
- You now get a "mini-bye" with 10 days off until your next game, away at Cincinnati. The Bengals are already close to dead as far as playoff standings go after their loss today, and if they lose in two weeks vs. Pittsburgh (they're on a bye next week), they'll definitely be dead. So, this game against NE may ultimately mean nothing for them. Should be a game they can prep a lot for on the mini-bye.
- Week after that is a home game vs. the Giants, who are spunky but irrelevant and not going anywhere, and who have lost almost all of their weapons except for QB Dart. I'd probably be a bit conservative here too - rest some guys - give them advanced rest ahead of the bye coming up the following week.
- This next week is a bye. Get healthy.
- After the bye, Bills at Foxboro. Spend your bye getting healthy and game planning to sweep them. If you do then you probably have the division basically locked up.
- The last 3 weeks of the season then become less tense (at Ravens, at Jets, home v Dolphins) - with at least two of those games being vs irrelevant teams and perhaps all three.

If they play their cards right they can put themselves in position to really only need to "go hard" for about 3 of these games, lock up the division, and otherwise just play smart and get playoff ready and healthy.

Here's how I'd approach things:

- Week 10, @TB: Win. Play 60 minutes, clean up mistakes.
- Short week 11 vs Jets: Win, get mini-bye.
- Week 12, @Cincinnati. Win. The Bengals' defense is so bad, they actually play better with only 10 men on the field.
- Week 13, Giants: Win.
- Week 14 bye week: still want a Win.
- Week 15, Bills: Win. Statement game.
- Week 16, @Baltimore: Win.
- Week 17, @Jets: Win.
- Week 18, Miami: rest people if possible, but still Win.
- Bye week: enjoy watching people lose.

I like my plan better, don't buy the "you really only have to go hard for 3 games" idea. Football doesn't work like that.

Yep. You put the boot on their throat every chance you get. Had they scored there, and again when the second half opened the game would have been over.

Other than scoring more points (my strategy every game), you want to break the other team, make them bend the knee. A score before halftime would likely have accomplished that.

Credit to the Falcons for not breaking.

Good post. Maybe it just felt like MPs defenses were bad just thinking back to the Eagles SB loss.. but you are right there homie..

Vita is and absolute beast in the interior he definitely for sure will see plenty of double teams.. Tommy is have to apologize to you.. you were right on ownenu.. he has been giving up a ton of pressure on his side past few weeks...

Your opinion.

But the team is not SB ready yet.

Maye still has alot to improve upon. Defense isn't quite there.
Maye is an mvp candidate. The defense is top 5 in points allowed.
What teams do you think are SB ready. Did you think the 2001 patriots were SB ready at 5-4?
I’ll trust the scoreboard over your negativity and fear of success.
