It surprises me how many fans dismiss Stevenson’s outstanding pass protection as an afterthought, given that everybody seems to agree that protecting Maye is priority #1.

What isn't surprising is it's some of the same fans who dismiss Holiins contributions to that same protection

Oh look. You have conjured one of those little face things. Very clever.
You really need to climb out of your own ass, no picture required. The majority of the time, you sound quite pompous.

Agreed, that should be the plan to stop robinson and make penix beat us. This is Gonzo’s first big assignment to lock up London. If penix can beat us you tip your cap.

Anybody see / have thoughts on Zo‘s take:
„Gonzo should be put one-one on TE Pitts and erase him. „

I get that Gonzo is the one guy w height & athleticism to stop the TE safety valve. But I just don’t get how you execute this ….
Does he roll over and switch roles w C Davis or Jones; but only when Pitts is split wide?
How do you cover him when he chips off the line and unexpectedly goes out/downfield?

I guess you can just use Davis full time on London; but I think I would rather see Davis on Pitts fulltime & Gonzo on London fulltime.

Thoughts?

Really all we can do is cross our fingers and hope Henderson rises to the challenge. It's not like he doesn't understand how it works, given he was good at it in college. I think at some point Vrabel needs to just be like "Buddy. You're only gonna succeed if you push through the fear."

I genuinely think Henderson has been slow to accept the hard hitting in the NFL and it led to some hesitancy. I'm basing this all off of one preseason quote where he remarked how shocked he was at how hard you get hit in the NFL, but it can explain a lot. But last week showed something, I have full faith that he can show us another thing this week. He's smart enough, he has the tools, and he has done it before.

Honestly. I wish you people would use your words. I have no idea what this means. Besides, this person is obviously a democrat, and I am a fairly rabid libertarian.

Gaining 34 yards while playing 75% of the snaps is not the hard to replace production you think it is. Henderson and Jennings will split the snaps. We will be fine.
This and Henderson missing one block in his very first game as a pro seems to have thrown half the board into 'He can't pass block ever'.

He's a fine pass blocker, he's as good, if not better, than Stevenson.

Bruh.
He missed ONE block.

He missed ONE block.

It was a fugly miss tho, gotta at least concede that to the snap judgement crowd.
It was bad enough I immediately recalled how I touted his blocking in the draft discussion and cringed a bit lol

This is like the people libeling and slandering Steph Gilmore even after they won the Super Bowl in 18, until he won the DPOY in 19, because he blew one coverage in his first game. It's insanity.

I remember those times. He was a bum who should go back to Buffalo, or something.

I don't think he's available. Abdul Carter being a bust is one of the quietest stories in the league right now.
I've seen you refer to him as a bust or disappointment a few times. By all accounts he's performing quite well. His sacks leave a lot to be desired by he's creating pressure. I think bust is not only harsh, but completely incorrect. He's going to be a very good player.

The impression I had with Henderson is that it’s not HOW or WHETHER to block, it’s who and when in this offensive system that’s very different from what he’s used to. Hopefully we’ll see the next step in his learning curve tomorrow.

He has one half sack.
You don't draft a guy #3 overall to get a lot of made-up pressure stats.

ESPECIALLY if your defensive line also touts Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibideoux.

Let me guess, you were super-high on him coming out?

Is anything but a bust.
I’ve seen a few articles that have him as DROY through 8 weeks.
I usually agree with most your takes, but believe you’re wrong here.
Time will tell.

Yes, how ever could they possibly replace the 2.4 ypc he put up last week.

It's always convenient when someone goes out of their way to show that they don't understand a player's value from play to play outside of yards, touches, or scoring.

THIS is a batshit insane take. I get that it's not YOUR take.
By that reasoning Craig Woodson is right there with him.
