Content Post JETS SUCK 2025 EDITION (OFFICIAL): DIVINE INTERVENTION DENIED

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.
Guy with the mic is rocking a "Forever Next Year Jets" shirt!

So many of those dolts are embracing the suck, it's absurd.

Folks like us recognized long ago this is a psycho-social phenomenon transcending football. The implications range from societal to international, even existential. What I'd like to know is whether these people would suffer an identity crisis and bail if the Jete ever became winners.

Ehh, I’m old enough to remember a similar attitude around the Sox prior to 04

Vastly different circumstances and fan bases (not to mention sports cultures). The Jete "won it all" once before in what more or less qualifies as football's modern era. Plus, Fenway lacks the telltale odiferous stench distinguishing Jete environs.

It really depends on if he actually is showing anything as a head coach. I thought Bowles and Saleh at least showed something and should have stuck around for longer if Woody knew what he was doing. Bowles may not be Belichick in his prime, but he’s kept Tampa running after Brady left which is something Belichick not-in-his-prime couldn’t do here. All gas no brakes Saleh got his players to buy in, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he does better in his 2nd stint too, if he gets one.

Glenn? Everything I’ve seen so far out of him suggests to me that he’s in over his head like Adam Gase was. But I’ll admit I haven’t been following them particularly closely yet, so I could be mistaken and it’s possible Glenn might be building something behind the scenes.
Its nuts seeing todd Bowles have a personality now. I saw him smiling and cracking jokes recently with some players and I thought I've never seen him happier.

Woody Johnson is a horrible owner. He became an ambassador to Ireland 7 years ago, and while im not sure what his responsibilities were, it's never great when an owner splits time like that imo. Look at john henry; that guy doesn't give 2 f@cks about the Sox anymore and it shows.

Woody Johnson became Ambassador to the United Kingdom. And his brother took over during that time. Fortunately, Christopher was just as useless at overseeing the JETE.

Started watching the Sox in the early 70s myself, have some really huge disappointments due to The Big Red Machine, Bucky Dent, and Bill Buckner.

Yet I do not recall a 'we suck and we hate ourselves' energy.

I recall a 'why can't we get it done' energy.

Big difference between frustration and self-loathing, IMO.

Much more akin to the Bills fans rather than the Jete fans.

We knocked on the door in '67, '75 and '86 so it didn't feel impossible.

And John Henry is a useless twat these days who should sell the team.

Prairie Cows fans are yahoos who embrace martyrdom. Jete fans are masochists by nature attracted to communal opportunity (misery loves company).

The Red Sox-Jete fan comparison is a nonstarter.

As stated by Mike, Johnson was never ambassador to Ireland and for clarification purposes, if it is needed, Ireland is not part of UK.
Dan Rooney was US ambassador to Ireland from 2009 to 2012.

As others have said, not anything close.

For perspective, the Sox went 86 years between championships. During that time, they had 35 losing seasons. And that includes the 15 straight losing seasons they had between 1919 and Tom Yawkey’s first year of owning the team in 1933, with a couple of owners who had no money and sold off all their talent just to stay afloat. Excluding that, it’s 20 of 70 losing seasons.

In the 57 years since the Jets last won a Superbowl, absent a miracle this year, they will have had 31 losing seasons. Plus plenty of national embarrassments that the Red Sox never had. As mentioned, not even close.
