2026 Draft: LT

Maybe my favorite play from yesterday.

PFFs current top-50 OT rankings:

18. Spencer Fano, Utah
22. Gennings Dunker, Iowa
23. Francis Mauigoa, Miami
24. Kadyn Proctor, Alabama
33. Austin Siereveld, Ohio St.
45. Caleb Lomu, Utah

Then there' a big jump to the 80's:

83. Trevor Goosby, Texas
86. Caleb Tiernan, Northwestern
91. Isaiah World, Oregon
95. Blake Miller, Clemson
100. Cayden Green, Missouri

I don't have Dunker nearly as high. I have a top-50 grade on Fili Fa'amoe.

I do believe Austin Siereveld could sneak into the 1st round conversation.

I think they're sleeping on Carter Smith. At 6'5", he might have to move inside but he's one of the best in CFB. He leads draftable OTs with only 3 pressures all year. He's 130 right now. Also we're just one week away from Brian Parker's 2 year sackaversary. No sack next week and he'd have gone 2 years without a sack.

Thought you believe Parker has no future at tackle?

I just noticed today that Monroe Freeling has the second least amount of pressures this season behind Carter Smith.

He makes Faulk look tiny. Moves really well for a 6'7" guy. I believe he has played RT as well as LT.

I want our Will Campbell at RT. Fano, Mauigoa, Proctor, Siereveld, Fa'amoe ... this kid looks like the real deal.

I was hoping there was going to be a Georgia v Arkansas game coming up but sadly not to be. could have killed two birds with one stone scouting wise.

So many interesting tackles, most not big names yet:

- Fa'alili Fa'amoe
- Austin Siereveld
- Monroe Freeling
- Cayden Green
- Kage Casey
- PJ Williams
- Carter Smith

There's got to get a couple of future starters in that group.

This from James Foster on Isaiah World (from tape before the 2025 season) made me laugh:

3 games in to the season, my thoughts on Will Campbell:

1. He is a damn good football player and leader, and should be a 10 year starter on the OL.

2. He is a big improvement at LT, and should mature into a reasonably capable starter.

3. That said, he has some limitations at LT, and it is not clear that is his best position.

So if someone like Caleb Lomu is BPA when the Pats pick, do you consider kicking Campbell inside to LG or over to RT?

Lomu has great footwork and mirroring ability. He is more of a classic LT than Campbell, though not as functionally strong.
It's not an outlandish idea but it's just not a variable I'm looking to introduce. Campbell is playing pretty damn well at LT right now. Everyone assumes he could play LG but it's a whole new position with different demands. Same with RT, though not as much of a stylistic change just learning to use similar techniques with different direction.

If the draft board truly fell that it was take a 10/10 LT prospect or settle for a waaaaaaaaaay worse player at another spot and there wasn't some overwhelming trade offer then yeah it's something to consider. But that feels like too much of a hypothetical. I find it unlikely that the board would actually fall like that. Most likely the gap between the LT and next best would be within a tolerable range to "reach" for a bigger need.
