OT: Players you forget were Patriots

I didn't remember Vinny Testaverde being a Patriot.

Some others
* indicates offseason/preseason only:

SS John Lynch *
DE Will Smith *
OLB James Harrison

WR Torry Holt *
WR Reggie Wayne *
RB Joseph Addai *
RB Fred Taylor
RB Steven Jackson

K Robbie Gould *
K Martin Grammatica *

Plenty more if you go pre-2000.

Good list.

To anyone who has forgotten any of the players in the OP's list, I have to ask: how long have you been a Pats fan? I remembered all of your list too except Addai.

If we're going for ex-Colts, what about Austin Collie?

Phil Dawson 'competed' with Vinatieri and then went on to have a long (1998-2018) career mostly with the Browns.
Robbie Gould was signed as an UDFA in 2005 but cut in preseason.

during the Brady years some forgotten names
wr Bert Emanuel
db Victor Green
g/c Mike Compton
wr JJ Stokes
dt Dan Klecko
nt Keith Traylor
lb Don Davis
db Leigh Bodden

I don't know if many of you remember this, but Tom Brady used to play for the Patriots. I was just looking at old videos of the Patriots and saw him starting at QB and was dumfounded to see him starting. It makes sense now. I was at Patriots Place a couple weeks ago and saw a statue of Brady and thought it was odd. Makes sense now.

Demaryius Thomas - never played in a NE regular season game because BB traded him after AB was released from Alcatraz.

David Boston - actually never made it, but he was the topic of countless conversations on here. Obviously the name fit, but NEM (RIP) wanted to trade for him so the Pats could run slants across the middle. NEM went on a letter writing jihad to Bob Kraft primarily vilifying the lack of passing across the middle of the field and wanting Charlie Weis fired. So many letters reached Kraft's desk that he showed them Charlie Weis. Weis sent NEM an autographed photo of him grinning from ear to ear. IIRC the Pats were in training camp at Bryant College.

NEM showed the photo on here for all to see. It was a proud day in PF. Com history. One NEP OC acknowledging another NEP OC. Weis kept on not throwing slants.

I never forgot about Ocho Stinko

Michael Hoomanawaui or however you spell it

I'm going to leave out players-you've-forgotten-because-you-are-a-casual-fan (Aqib Talib? seriously?) and players-you've-forgotten-because-they-were-never-very-good (Don Davis) but here are three players who had successful careers elsewhere:

Larry Centers (great career but not in New England long enough to make much impact)
Derrick Burgess (another of BB's but-I-met-him-at-the-Pro-Bowl misjudgements)
Duane Starks (watching him trying to figure out who to cover was like watching a Westerner looking for the right platform in a Japanese train station)
Brian Waters (great player, great signing, but wanted to leave to be with his family)

Even if I took another year to give this some more thought I never would have come up with these three names.

May as well be a list of made up names to me lol.
