The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Ponytail taking hits from the bong again?

If he is smart he bails on this sinking ship, takes a DC or HC job away from his father somewhere and then one day back in the NFL based on his own merits.

Except for the fact that a coach who coaches offense and decided to actually speak to Mac Jones has a 3-1 record with him. When you have a competent coach who isn’t in a pissing contest with a 24-year-old, you might get the most out of that very limited player instead of nosediving an entire season because you’re a petty, bitter, little man.
Bill is a flawed man, but that Mac sample size with the niners is too small to bring up here just as UNC sample size is small for major proclamations. Time will tell. I feel he will turn it around.

I am not going to sit here and defend Mac. I hated Mac the second I saw he was the pick and hated him every minute after. With that being said, Bill sabotaged any chance of him even being a capable player here because in addition to being a petty little *****, he doesn't understand a modern offense in this era of football.

Time has told. It told us the same thing since Brady was run out of town. Bill doesn’t know how to win games without the greatest player in NFL history. He bumbled around bringing in guys like Damiere Byrd, a washed Cam Newton, those two TE's who he drafted that never even saw the field, Nelson Agholor, Devante Parker, and Tyquan Thornton. Then he wasn't even capable of evaluating or maximizing the talent of guys he had on the roster. For some reason, Bill (and many on this board) thought Juju would be an upgrade over Jakobi Meyers. He could never get anything out of Jonnu Smith who has produced pretty well since leaving. The Chiefs have managed to get some level of production out of Thornton and Mac Jones at least looks like he belongs in the NFL now that he has a real coach.

Yes, it is a small sample size for Mac, but Mac is doing what most NFL backups should be able to do, win a few games with a talented roster and good coach. If Mac were to start the rest of the year, I am sure he would level off because he simply isn't that good, but he has a coach who works around his limitations and knows what he is because Shanahan understands (and somewhat pioneered) this modern NFL offense.

Bill, however, is running a Stone Age passing attack with a QB he overpaid in NIL money, after quickly running off the best QB on the roster (sound familiar?) who barely averaged 100 passing yards a game before getting hurt. Bill is a dinosaur and worst of all, he is mailing it in. He is a complete hypocrite, lazy, well past his prime, and mean-spirited. Messing with college kids’ futures who bought into what he was selling while he gets led around by some girl the same age as them and takes off to Nantucket every opportunity is despicable. Bill deserves every single bit of the criticism coming his way, and at this point, I am happy to see him fail.

This is the easiest conference game UNC has. If they drop this one, 0-8 is very much in the realm of possibility (though they would still have winnable games against Stanford and Wake).

Yeah, this was a comparatively loaded team before hack and whack Bill came here. Next year doesn't get easier. This was the best chance of Bill getting to 500. He'll look at next year's schedule and find a way out.

And both a petty douchebag and totally clueless for not letting his school talk up what Drake Maye is doing in the NFL. That's something that would attract kids to your program and Bill for some reason didn't understand that. I don't know who overruled him there but good on them for doing so.

Or maybe the school will decide that paying him $20M next season to GTFO is more palatable than what they'd owe him now if they fired him.

I didn't mean to imply Bill's not going to get his guaranteed 30M. He'll just figure out a way to get UNC to give it to him or some other fool to give him the money.

It's funny how as soon as that story leaked they instantly did a 180 and on Sunday were tweeting out Drake's TDs minutes after they happened.

Please so us all a favor and delete your account

So we can't disagree on anything, huh? How about you just mute him.

He will turn this around. His demise has greatly been exaggerated. He needed a QB. He got Mac Jones. You can’t win jack with Mac Jones in the NFL. Can you imagine BB with Drake?
Patience folks. Some of you will be eating crow soon.
A competent QB is the spirit of a team. Look at the Giants.
Kyle Shanahan can win jack with Mac Jones.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph man. Not everyone feels the way you do. Some guys are pissed that he ran Brady out. Some guys never liked the guy to begin with. Some guys, like me, used to be in the IBWT camp until it became clear that he'd lost his fastball. Who he is at 70 whatever he is now doesn't change what he accomplished in his NFL career, but there's no denying the final chapter of his career is a a fekkin' disaster, much like every other 70 something that hung on too long. Someone else posted 2004 Bill would have fired 2025 Bill a long time ago. He's not the same. That doesn't diminish what he did.

What I have a ginormous huge fekkin' problem with is that you won't let it go, so no one else gets to get to the point where they can reflect on how great he actually was. They just want to beat you into submission, and you refuse to shut up and let guys think what they want to think. You're obsessive. How about you think what you want and let everyone else have their opinions. When it's all said and done, he'll be in Canton and nothing that happens now is going to change it. More importantly, nothing you say is going to change guys opinion. They are dug in, just like you. How about we all agree to disagree and STFU about it. The freakin' 2025 Pats are in first place in the AFCE and as of today, the road to the division goes thru fekkin' Foxboro like it should.

Cheezus.

I agree with everything you said Steve and this will be my first and last post on this thread. Whenever I have wanted to kill some time, I have taken a peek at this thread but enough is enough for me. Sometimes I wonder if this thread is similar to a person going to an political opposition rally and taking the whole crowd on in a verbal debate that has no time limit. I can agree with a person going to the opposition rally, saying what he wanted to say and leaving. But to argue on and on knowing there is absolutely no chance of changing anyone's mind is IMO such a gigantic waste of time. Or to put it more bluntly it's kind of like shoveling **** against the tide . . .

BTW, I have always supported BB but his last 4 years at the helm was head shaking to say the least. I also live in NC. . .

Belichick has his own “buyout” to leave, now costing him $1 million were he to voluntarily exit. But with no opportunity to coach in the NFL or, after this experience, college, why would he pay $1 million with nowhere to coach? That’s not happening.

Yeah no way Bill doesn't try getting his money.

Robert and the owner's son's deep cover Chapel Hill reporter discusses Bill's continued failures as a head coach. This season's cupcake schedule is the easiest he'll ever get. To finish under 500 shows the level of grift and fraud from Bill and sons.

Dude's from Londonderry. Cover blown!

One thing nice about troll block mode is how much faster this thread loads!
