NFL Trade Deadline Discourse

If we need depth at CB, would Roger McCreary make sense? I know he was drafted by Vrabel in 2022, but haven’t followed his career. Is he an upgrade over what we currently have after CB2? Can he play inside & outside, or is he a specialist?
Nickel. Last year of contract (a rental?). Evidently TN doesn't like his size (5'11" - 190).

If they can afford it & NO is willing to deal, they should definitely go after Kamara. He’d be perfect in that offense.

Agree completely.

They have $82 million in dead money this year and $43 million next year per over the cap.com so they do accept high dead
Money .

You can't lessen a cap hit. Someone is going to have to eat that and it won't be Philly.

They have been told that Philly will never take that cap hit repeatedly, but they just ignore it and keep insisting Philly will trade him this season. Then they toss out absurd trades, (I bet Jack Westover and a 7 th will get it done...). It's completely delusional.

An even more extensive list

Haven't paid any attention to Browns, but Bitonio, Teller, Pocic and Zeitler are names that have performed in the past. Should we be interested in any of them.

Let’s trade for Hendrickson, Thibideaux, Jaelen Phillips (in-division long shot) or some other rusher on a bad team. We need some juice opposite Landry. Chaisson is good, but would be best suited in a backup role.

I am definitely in favour adding a pass rusher. We have been quite bad at pressuring from the outside the last few games, and today was case in point.

Without getting into who I think RB and Safety would seem like places to look for an extra body.

Could always use OL depth.

Just feels great to be in a place where it makes sense to be adding. I think we should still be looking for a player with at least another year left not in the last year of a deal.

But yeah let's add something.

Yeah, we need depth/difference-maker at those positions. We could go the Cleveland route OL-wise.

Allegedly..

AJ Brown or Hendrickson, be happy with either one. I feel a trade is coming, this team is for real, AFC is wide open.

much prefer Edge.
Our collective pass catching group is good enough, some pass rush is a much bigger need imho.

I’d love either one, but that cap hit/dead money for Brown makes it almost impossible. Olave (concussions be damned) may be more feasible/cost effective. We need another difference maker at edge rusher to take this defense over the top. Unless we can acquire someone like DT Jeffrey Simmons. We’ll surely be in an arms race with SF for edge rushers.

Good enough for what? To make the playoffs with a weak schedule? Sure. But in the big picture this team still needs a lot of talent upgrades if it’s going to compete for championships. At some point here in the next few years they’re going to need better edge rushers and better pass catchers.

Our pass catchers are good enough to win now, and in the playoffs.
Teams have won SBs with less.
Our passing O is not a problem.
Our running game and pass rush are.
If we had a dominant pass rusher, that would be far more effective than adding a WR.

The NFL trade deadline always seems to have the most lackluster endings of the 4 major sports. Not expecting much but would love to see a few of the players mentioned.

Almost always ends with a thud.
Lots of smoke, but no fire.
