Week six has another Sunday morning international game, this time in London, with the UK being subjected to cruel and unusual punishment as the Jete are the 'home' team, hosting Denver. I'm guessing the Broncos will hold NYJ to single digits, with a strong possibility of a shutout.
The late afternoon game should be a good one, with San Francisco at Tampa Bay. The Pats-Saints game was originally scheduled for 4:30, then flexed out a couple weeks back for this game. Considering how all four of these teams played last year, it's a bit of a head-scratcher as to why the NE-NO game was ever scheduled to be broadcast late over the 49ers-Bucs to begin with.
Fox only has one game this week, and apparently it is a law that any and all neutral markets must be televised a Dallas game each and every week - no matter how bad the matchup is. Last week it was Cowboys at Jets, this week Dallas at Carolina. Apparently Fox really truly wants football fans to stop watching football. Rams at Baltimore is much more compelling, and the network assigned their top broadcast crew to that game - yet it is only being televised in Baltimore, California, and the Rams former home, St Louis. The Ravens are desparate for a win; a loss will make them 1-5, and probably kill any chances of making it to the playoffs. 3-2 Seattle at 4-1 Jacksonville is a more competitive game than Dal-Car, with better teams, both probably headed to the postseason - yet Fox elects to broadcast one of the worst games to most of the nation instead.
Sunday night is another interesting matchup: Lions at Chiefs. If KC loses they drop to 2-4. One of the Monday night games is of interest to us, with Buffalo at Atlanta. A combination of a Pats win at New Orleans and a Falcons home victory over the Bills would put your New England Patriots in first place in the AFC East. Atlanta needs a win to staay close to Tampa Bay in the NFC South. They looked awful three weeks ago in a loss at Carolina, but have also defeated Minnesota and Washington, and were leading up until the last minute in their week one loss to the Bucs.
Byes: Houston, Minnesota
