With Gibson on IR we have 52 on the game day roster, so there is 1 less person to make inactive, so Chism is more likely.
But carrying more than 5 WRs would be pretty unusual. So unless they see him as a kick returner, he's likely destined for inactive status again. (And they have noted they want the KR to be beefy).

Jaylinn Hawkins, Anfernee Jennings, AND Keion White has been ruled OUT vs. the Saints.

The Edge Depth is going to be tested something fierce.. Especially by Kamara and Miller

My GUESS is that Truman Jones and Terrell Jennings will be the promotions.

I do find it weird that they haven't IRed Gibson yet.
Interesting that my MSN feed fed me a Pats article that mentioned our only draft disappointment, Braydon Swinson, who is currently on the PS. In it his position coach stated that Swinson has recently made great strides in his game and is showing in practice the potential they thought he had when they drafted him in the 5th and thought they go a steal.

So maybe it's him and not Ponder that will get the call up? At any rate it was nice to see something positive about what looked to be our only miss of this 2025 draft class

I agree, but statistically more likely because we need less inactives. Statistically more likely does not mean more probable. I should have been clearer.

Huh? Normally those mean exactly the same thing. . . .

They elevated DE Truman Jones.

I think the point was that there have been 2 practice squad elevations for every game this year, so elevating 2 today is the same as the first 5 games. With Gibson on IR we have 52 on the game day roster, so there is 1 less person to make inactive, so Chism is more likely. But we had a 52 man roster previously waiting for Tavai, so I am not sure tomorrow is much different than the previous games.

You are right, if 0 or 1 players were elevated from the practice squad that would make it more likely that Chism would be elevated, but the Pats seem to elevate the max of 2 every game.
I think you are confusing the game day roster and team roster:

Team Roster: 53 spaces
Practice Squad: 16 spaces (+1 Intl)

Active Gameday roster: 48 FROM EITHER of the TR & PS (not more than 2)

Chism s totally unlikely to be active (particularly when a RB & DE PSers lower the effective gameday roster to only 46 of the 52/53) til someone wr gets hurt or vrabel finally gets disillusioned w pop.

[edit]: Note saying Chism would be „elevated“ is bad use of terms & potentially confusing. Elevate = to ream roster. Activated= to gameday.

I dont know why folks think this is not a trap game, it most certainly is. NO gave buffalo a game, they have some talent also, Pats coming off a significant game in buffalo, this is as a real trap game as ever. Hope they take this seriously.
Problem is analysis of potential letdown games show there is no evidence letdown games happen when people think they will.
It's just something people think with no evidence.

If the Patriot lose it will be because the Saints outplayed them. In the NFL, the players are good on every team and any team can beat another.

Did the Eagles have a letdown game against the Giants, there big division rival? Did Bills have a letdown? Upsets happen in the NFL.

NFL players, retired and current, are quoted one after another that trap games are not a thing.

This is an older analysis debunking the letdown or trap games myth

I pray Vrabel is drilling into them the importance of this game. Standing at 4-2 1/3 into the season would be a monumental achievement based on last season. Also, do people realize how important 2 games OVER .500 is compared to being .500 at 4 pm today? 4-2 means 6-5 the rest of the way just about guarantees a playoff spot.

I don’t think he was 109 percent until this summer.
100% effective?

Nope, this guy is 109% effective. 12 out of 10 dentists agree.

Luckily, all NFL teams are constrained to a team total of 100% so that 9% has to be taken from somewhere else on the roster. I'm hoping kicker so if it's a close game maybe a missed field goal for them can come into play.

Agree

The Pats game was a trap game for undefeated Buffalo and they paid the price. The 2 win Pats facing a 4 - 0 Bills who were favored by 8.5 at Home.

If it was it shouldn’t have been. Weird things happen a lot in a division game.
