I have been reading comments and talking to friends that the Patriots have a soft schedule the next 3 game against teams that are 1-4 like the Saints, Titans and Brown. While that is true the Patrs are still capable of playing some inconsistent football that could hurt them even against those 3 teams.

I re-watched the Buffalo game. The Patriots are still capable of making stupid penalties like the two unnecessary contact calls against Durden and Farmer in the 4th quarter that helped the Bill score a TD on that drive. They also have the ability to string some good plays together like the 90 yard touchdown drive also in the 4th quarter. The Pats need to cut down on the number of penalties as they had 8 for 93 yards.

Overall i like the direction of this team !!

First game indoors on a fast track, I'm thinking the NO game is when see Henderson rip off some big plays.
Would like to see a deep one to Kyle Williams too feening.

It might also be the OC and playcalling. He could throw for 300 plus yards if he was airing it out all game. But they seem to want to have a short type passing game.

My guess is next year he may have more freedom to start throwing it downfield more.
I think Josh generally known for a short passing game.

Curious what your idea of opening it up more downfield would be? How deep, and how often?

Maye had three completions over 20 yards last week (Henry, Diggs, Boutte), and one incompletion (Henry), IIRC. Is that what you’re looking for? Or must he throw a pass 50 yards or more on every drive to satisfy you?

Anybody going to the game?

Is that a good thing?

Agree, high potential to be a trap game.

My other concern is the running game, now that the Pats have only 2 RBs plus FB Westover.

Don't want to see Stevenson and Henderson gassed by playing too many extra snaps, but at the same time don't want the offense to become too predictable with the formations and play calling, and relying too much on the passing game.
This is why i believe hasty likely gets elevated of the PS he could provide carries and hits the hole pretty good.

This team hasn't been in this position in a while.. that fraudulent 2021 team.. the dysfunctional 2022 team is when they last saw back to wins..

In no way possible is this coaching staff allowing this to be any type of trap game. NO and what challenges they present is on that highlight screen I can guarantee that.

So if I am reading that right we have negative EPA for all our runs except for those going outside the LT. And the runs either side of center (A gap) have been particularly bad).

BTW
If you ever get a chance to go see the Superdome I suggest you do it when the Patriots are playing a SB there that was awesome!

I was there for one, unfortunately it was for the one they had for the 85 season against the Bears. Even so, it IS a great place to watch a game and the ONLY place they should EVER hold a superbowl

Vegas seems like it would probably be a fun place for a SB too. But I can certainly attest that winning a SB and partying on Bourbon Street is as good as it gets.

My fandom of Rattler is curiously not as crazy as it was last year and this summer.

Josh Allen blew it. He had a wide open guy for an easy TD that he didn’t see. That would have won the game for the Bills in all likelihood.

Wouldn’t it be amazing for Rattler, if faced with a similar scenario, delivers the knockout punch?

It's an utter disappointment for us to go down to NO and let rattler beat us.. if so then this team isn't the team we saw beat the reigning MVP.

That's what mediocre teams do all the time, they stun a better opponent especially in division then go and lay an egg against an inferior opponent.

If the Pats want to really become what we all hope they are post Buffalo then they have to go to New Orleans and win this game, good teams don't get too high after a big win then follow it up with a stinker.

Any news if the Saints STUD—similar to me here at PatsFans message board—will be making his first start? End Chase Young. He’s their disruptor on defense who’s been out with a calf injury.

And Aints fans have been beating their bourbon bottles for rookie heat-seeking missile Danny Stutsman to play more. He could be a BIG upgrade over Little Willy, Pete Werner, at LB.

Chase Young could pose a big problem. Even for homeboy Stubby Will at LT looking to make a statement.

This will be a close game. Gotta get the run game going. Then play action. Godchaux of Davon is their NT. Don’t tell me he’ll dominate Chapstick Bradbury. That’s a nightmare.
