what are the options?
with Gibson down, Henderson can't carry the load alone.
Stevenson blocks. gets the tough yards. catches the ball really well. lets assume he can fix the issue.

the team still needs another RB. Jennings may be a bridge for now, but what about KR?

thoughts on free agent Coradelle Patterson if he is in shape and wants to play? is he a pick up that can help the team returning kicks and getting 10 snaps per game out of the backfield?

The problem isn't that Henderson can't carry the team. He's horrendous in pass protection.

He has to be brought along slowly.

Expect another RB signing or PS promotion.

I can't let that slide. He's very good in pass protection. He missed one block badly in his first game.

It was fugly and no doubt damaged his (and maybe his coach's) confidence. He's not attacking his carries with the authority, for want of a better term, the way you'd expect. Seems like he's having trouble getting his pro feet under him. Got high hopes though, he's got the talent I'm thinking maybe his head has to catch up a bit.

It’s tough to believe in yourself when your coach shows you he doesn’t believe in you

True but I'm certainly willing to give this staff the benefit of a doubt where players heads are concerned

Yes. They make rookies earn their trust. I think that’s the main thing holding Williams and Chism back too,

And there's a serious step between withholding trust because it hasn't been earned and pulling it away once given. The kids should get there, fingers crossed. Although I'm not as high on Chism as a lot of folks, there's fire and talent there that may require more time and coaching.

He's missed a whole bunch of blocks, including one in the kick return where Gibson got injured. In college he was great at pass pro; in the NFL to date not so much.

No run stuffs from him though - he has pretty much always (like 97%) given you positive yardage. But nothing much after contact at all.

I thought his run game was being elusive, making tacklers miss, not as much running through contact.

Might be he needs a year in a pro strength and conditioning program.

Yes, he's obviously very fast and elusive. So not sure why they run him up the middle quite as much as they do. And he doesn't yet seem to have the knack of bouncing it outside if there is no gap to be found.
3.78 YPC, which is pretty average.

And in his second game drew no less than three holds. His scouting tapes do label him as "an exceptional blocker for his size," but he's been up and down against legit NFL rushers. I don't discount that he will eventually develop, but right now he's not being trusted in key moments.

I've been absent for a long while so I'll just leave a few comments of what I was thinking right after the game:

Bills looked sloppy and clearly overlooked us.
d%#*!@t Rhamondre! (luckily you got a chance to redeem yourself, but only because poor Gibson went down)
FINALLY we had a revenge game FOR us, instead of against us.

He’s a rookie. No surprise he’s been up and down against legit NFL players. Same with his ball carrying. He is going to get better, mit just may take some time.
