The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

I have to confess I thought this report was BS. Aside from the fact that NO ONE could be so petty, it benefits the program to show alums having success in The League.

I guess I underestimated how much of a bitter scumbag Belichick could be.

Well, the policy is now reversed but I can’t believe it existed in the first place.

This is a symptom why Belichick failed late in his time here. Not that Kraft undermined him. Not that he was stuck with Mac Jones. It is because he has become a bitter petty man who puts BS like this over other things to help his team win.

The guy is screwing over his own players by not letting Patriots scouts into the UNC facilities. Now he is screwing over Drake Maye who he doesn't even know and never coached because of his petty feud with the Krafts. UNC cannot even congratulate the guy who may end up being the best player to ever have played for the school.

I think as the years go by, we are going to find out that a lot of the stuff that Robert and Jonathan got blamed for in the Belichick split wasn't so much their fault.

Report: UNC staff has been directed not to tweet Patriots-related content

With nothing about its current football program to celebrate, North Carolina could have taken a social-media victory lap last night following the biggest NFL win from former UNC quarterback Drake Maye.

The only problem? He plays for The Team That Shall Not Be Named.

Ross Martin of 247Sports.com reports this: “According to sources inside the UNC football program, it is a directive from the staff (Bill Belichick) to not tweet/retweet anything Patriots-related. That’s clearly why UNC football has not posted anything from Drake Maye’s electric primetime win over the Buffalo Bills.”

It’s no surprise. Belichick has made it clear that Patriots scouts are not welcome on campus. Belichick has justified his position by explaining that he’s not welcome in New England, even though he’s been back to the facility since he was fired after the 2023 season.

He’s bitter and salty. In all situations, he’s either the hero or a victim. And he has made the Patriots the villains in his own delusional narrative regarding a career arc that is undermining his Eight Rings legacy.

Belichick believed he’d instantly become a great college coach. While he still may possess elite skills when it comes to concocting game plans or making in-game adjustments and decisions, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have good players.

In New England, Belichick’s coaching acumen more than compensated for his various mistakes in picking players. At North Carolina, Belichick and G.M. Mike Lombardi brought in more than 70 players who, based on their performance through five games, would be better suited to FCS programs.

This past weekend was the low point for Belichick’s college football excursion. The Tar Heels were embarrassed at home by Clemson. They’ve been blown out by each of the Power Four teams they’ve played. The next day, the Patriots had their biggest win of the post-Belichick era.

I had been saying Bill's whole "I do what's in the best interest of the team" motto was nonsense for years. Bill liked to do what was best for Bill and sometimes that aligned with the greater good and sometimes it just helped Bill. He started drafting every single Rutgers player after they let his kid be the walk-on long snapper. He traded Garopollo to his friend's kid for less than the alleged haul we would've received from Cleveland because he was still mad at them over two decades later. Bill wouldn't/didnt want to make the call a year earlier on BIll O'Brien to come back as OC because he was working under Bill's good friend, Nick Saban. He also built out a coaching staff with sycophants coaches he worked with whether they were qualified for the position or not because he didn't want to go outside his little circle of trust. Bill let his ego drive off the greatest player to ever play the game because he didn't like Brady's personal trainer (ironic considering he now lets his dingbat moonlight in multiple areas with seemingly unlimited access) and he also refused to talk to our starting quarterback for a chunk of his final season.

Bill has been a petty, petulant, child for a long time. Does that mean everything he did was wrong? No. Does that mean everything the Kraft's did was right? No. Bill continually only worries about Bill but some on here (trolling or not) are hopelessly devoted to a guy that wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

Fake news. But good to see the haters out enjoying our big win. You're all frauds.

Was it fake news or was it because it was getting reported everywhere about it that UNC and/or Belichick decided to post something to diffuse the situation. This tweet was long after the initial report was reported.

He really is thin skinned for a guy with his persona. I remember after Brady's Super Bowl win in Tampa when Linda complained on social media about fans giving Bill a hard time for that.

No way those were her thoughts on her own.

What were you doing at 11:22 last night while most of us were still yelling and screaming about a huge win?

When did they start posting any of their highlights from other Sunday players. It's fake news but double down if it makes you feel better.

Ummm...... They posted highlights of Javonte Williams of the Cowboys in real time yesterday. The only posts on their timeline from this morning is Drake Maye and separate of video of all the UNC alumni. Now it could be their social media person wasn't posting last night, but it could be the story is true.

Also looked that there were no posts on their timeline last week with video of Maye even though they showed video of Omarion Hampton of the Chargers and Cedric Gray of the Titans. And the the week before, there is video of Hampton's first NFL TD and nothing about Maye.

There is plenty of evidence that this story is 100% true.

It's typical Bill cult denial.

I don't know the reporter who originally reported this. So I won't dismiss outright the story isn't true, but to claim outright that it is fake news is just wishcasting. I tend to doubt a reporter would make up this story, but won't dismiss that he got bad info.

Florio picked it up, I can't see him doing that if it was a completely fabricated story.
