2025 Red Sox Thread

Chapman also a beast.
I wasn't nervous at all with the bases plugged. OK, maybe a little.

Sogard and Eaton starting Game 1 in the Bronx. Why not, it’s not anyone else is really raking. Sogard’s play was the turning point

Win this series and who cares what happens next. All the massive television coverage the Yankees got this summer will be for nothing and their massive payroll would have been a waste. AND the Red Sox will continue to be an improving team whether the owners break the bank or not. The kids will get better and there are more where they came from and we will see 2 or 3 more over the course of next season.

BTW- I have forgotten how good baseball can be as a spectator sport. Too many games if ask me. But Red Sox/Yankees in a game that matter and they always find a way to bring out the drama, and THAT 9th inning brought out the drama in spades.

I was a tiny bit, but then I said if anyone can get out of this it's him. Beast, so fun to watch

Sox in 3. Yankees starting pitching is ok but their pen is shaky and I can see them blowing at least 1.
Well you nailed that one. Now let's hope it is 2.

If they take the series Crochet again in game 1 of the DS on 3 days rest?

They need to win tonight so there's no pressure on a young starter in game 3.
Speaking of young starters I'm not sure which Bello will show up tonight. His Sept has been uneven. Better on the road than home this year though..

Good news is Rodon isn't exactly a post season ace. He was kicked around a but last year.

Overall agree but on the other hand i'd rather know sooner than later if Early and Harrison have brass balls. We'll need them

I don't know enough about either of those young guys. I have read that Tolle has elite heat, but needs an off-speed pitch. I think the Yankees will feast on him if that's accurate. I don't think he'll pitch in anything other than a mop up role. Maybe a spot hitter here or there, but no way they make him go thru that lineup a full turn. IMO anyway.

Someone is going to have to step up. Not going to get it done with Crochet and a prayer. Too many Yankee hitters can hurt them.

All the Sox have for starters is Crochet, Bello, and the young guys. Everyone else is hurt. Bello is 26.

Next year and beyond the young guys will mature, and there is more young guys coming up, but for now the Sox do not have a lot with Giolito going down.

Which is my point that someone has to step up.

No, I wouldn't do that. I would start Early against the Blue Jays. He is ready.

If they win tonight of course. If they don't then I have no idea what they do.

I think Early has IT.

2-0 Yankees bottom of the 1st. Right field at Yankee Stadium should be illegal. But whatever gonna be a long night.

2-2, Story with a 2 run single.
