Many of my questions have been answered, as sort of a 'pump the brakes on Maye' guy coming into the season and after week 1. And even week 1 there was a lot of good mixed in with the bad.

Now that we've had a month to watch him, it's hard to come to any other conclusion. He's the guy going forward. He'll make mistakes, have bad throws here and there, probably a heroball moment or two, but Josh has him doing things he's comfortable with, and it just seems to be getting better each week.
His accuracy overall has been really impressive, but he does seem to have an early high miss I would like to see him get rid of.
That first throw on 3rd down yesterday was high into coverage over the middle. Scary.

Bledsoe did the same thing his entire career. Brady used to do it in big games. It happens.

I think with his throwing motion, when he misses, it will be high. Eventually, maybe, he can adjust a bit of mechanics to avoid that occasionally. Herbert kind of does the same thing with a similar motion, when he misses, it is high. The % is still very low. On that play I think the pressure up the middle caused him to release a little higher.

However, he made the right decision and did not throw into coverage, just was high and a bit behind. HIs decision making on the reads has been very good.

Hard not to consider him a rookie with the mess here last year. I’d like to see more good football from him and be less fumble prone.
So it’s hard to consider you are wrong when you know you are???

He has 2 fumbles. Same as Mahomes, Jackson and Herbert, one fewer than Hurts.

You just want to be negative and are grasping at straws to fail at supporting it

Bills have the 2nd highest scoring team in football. I guess their offensive players really suck. I think you are leaving out Coleman at WR as well. Leads the team in receptions and receiving yards. Cook is averaging 100 yards a game rushing, and is a proven dangerous weapon (receiving as well).
They are carried by Josh Allen and NFL defenses continue to get worse. Take him away or time travel this team into a different era and they aren't the 2nd highest scoring team as of right now.

This. And until someone steps up and takes out Allen's knees, they'll continue to have success, because he can just lumber for 6 yards, and you can't play man against their garbage receivers, so he just picks apart zone and checks it down, and it also opens up the run unless you have a phenomenal front 4.

The fact the Bills haven't won multiple super bowls at this point is astounding, Allen faces like 80% zone coverage.

I'm seeing so many QB's just running around freely in these last 4 weeks. At least 25-30 years ago, it would've been their death wish for QB's to consistently doing that. There's a reason why the John Elway play where he gets helicoptered around against GB because he was playing like this was his last chance at a ring. This was something that was not encouraged by HC's. Now they are just leisurely jogging around for 10-15 yards at times.

I mean, why do you think Drake Maye's comp % is so high? Why do you think he's facing so much zone? It's not because of the uber-dangerous Patriots receivers, it's because if the defense has their back turned, Maye can *actually* run and gash them for 20 in no time. All of Maye's TD runs this year are against Man coverage.

Ditto with Lamar Jackson. Older defenses would've made him into something he doesn't like doing and that's a pocket passer.

All it takes is one guy not afraid of a fine.

And players like Jackson, well, he's hurt *again*.

Jackson greatly prefers being a pocket passer. and is a very good one.

It’s also evident that he is throwing to hit receivers in that area of the field in stride so they can get RAC, rather than low to be safer and forfeit RAC.
Hes trying to throw eye high and is effective at it often.

The part I can’t believe is the read option.
QBs are choosing to hand off or keep, and trying to conceal it by carrying out the fake, and then responsible for the qb distracted opportunity to bury him. If you are carrying out a fake pretending to have the ball you are open game. I don’t understand how teams haven’t recognized the best way to defend this is to plant the qb whether he keeps or not. It would eliminate the play from the game.

Is there any chance we can see the entire team PPF grades for this week? Asking for a friend. cough.

Guess what the Bills might do Sunday night then???

Think i saw one of those nextgen stats in a thread somewhere that maye has been really good against the blitz, that may be why Carolina didn’t blitz much. Wish i had better information to cite, all i could find was the below but it was prior to the steeler game:

Glad to see Marcus Bryant got some snaps.

Is that his first game?

Looks like, since it was a blowout some of the backups got in. I see lowe got some snaps too.

Geez when was the last time we were able to say that about sitting the starters in a meaningful game ! (being on the GOOD end of the blowout)
