I'm pretty confident we won't be looking for a RB1 (welcome to the Patriots Treveyon Henderson!). It's always a fun position group to scout though.

Singleton seems to get consensus for the draft out of PSU, but I would love a Kaytron Allen to help the Pats with the obvious need for some between the tackles running.

Not so sure I agree with OP's premise at this point. An upgrade from Rham to complement TreVeyon Henderson would be useful.

Not an absolute need, but if the value is there. I'm intrigued by 5'9" 228# Jonah Coleman from Washington.

Hoping to get a glimpse of him vs. Ohio St.

A bit harsh. The OP was written well before Rhamondre’s fumbles and Treveyon’s struggles

It wasn't intended to be harsh at all, apologies if it came across that way. The "at this point" was intended to convey that things have changed since the OP. Still have high hopes for Henderson, but a complementary back would not be an awful use of resources.

No worries, I was joking.

I just wanted to say that my RB binky from last year is having a day for Washington.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt, once Hendo was drafted it crushed those dreams and now I quietly root for him to do well.

Currently my joint RB 1s for the Pats taking value into account.

and

Zero career fumbles for Haynes.

Justice Haynes is my #2 RB, slightly ahead of Jonah Coleman. I think both will go higher than I would address RB.

Need to watch Price.

I think Price would be RB 1 on any team that doesn't have Love. FWIW, I also think Love is better than Jeanty, at least as an all-round back.

Intriguing.

How do you think he would complement Henderson?

RB1 to Henderson's RB 2. He's better running inside than Henderson. Tomorrow night could be a big game for Henderson as he's likely to be RB 1 hopefully.

It's interesting they mention Price's vision in that article because that's what impressed me the most about him. vision through the line and vision in open field. Both stand out.

I like the idea of a RB1 who is a threat to take it to the house, as opposed to a pure power guy. Haynes and Price both intriguing in that way.

Connor Rogers says the Notre Dame tandem of Love & Jadarian Price is one of the best RB duos in "years".

Price is "so good in outside zone with his vision, burst and feel." He says he'd be really good as a kick returner because of his ability to run through arm tackles. Says he's not Jeremeiyah Love "but he's close. On any other team he'd be a superstar".

Well you know me. Even before i look at how a RB runs I ask 'how does he do catching the ball?' 'Does he actually run any routes?' "Could he pass for a slot WR?' And i am hesitant to take any RB too high. I pushed back against the Henderson pick at the time, but eventually was talked into the value of it. Maybe he will still justify it...

Someone like Cam Skattebo i was also excited about and liked the value a lot more. And 20 catches already! That is easy money.

I have no idea how next year will look. Larison? Gibson? Will they be back and look right? IDK. But here are guy's i'm interested in. Late... sometimes a bit small (don't care about size much tbh).

Give me Eli Heidenreich! That's my guy for this year! I would draft him over a ton of other higher rank backs. In fact, put him on my binky list!

Would he have to serve? I’m not sure what the rules are for Navy guys.

They sometimes make exceptions for pro athletes. They can sometimes serve in the reserves for instance. Sometimes they do waivers too. If he were to be drafted and you are the Navy... What do you think would be better for you? To get 1 more guy on a ship doing this or that or to have him in the reserves and also be a representative and recruitment symbol.

Depending on the answer to those questions they may waiver him or put him in the reserves and let him do his thing in the off season under a longer term commitment. Technically the Military can pull the rug out from under you at any time, even if you are a pro athlete and they decide. So i would imagine you need play their game to make sure that doesn't happen.

They can also serve after their professional career potentially. Person i'd still roll the dice on him in the 7th. I like him a lot.

Here is what AI spit back

Yes, anyone who plays football for the U.S. Naval Academy must serve in the military after graduating from the academy. Attending the academy requires a commitment to a service obligation, which for graduates of the Naval Academy is typically at least five years of service in the Navy or Marine Corps. But that is harder now if you enrolled later than 2021 (which he did).

  • Military service is a requirement: Playing football is an athletic activity, but the primary purpose of the U.S. Naval Academy is to train and commission officers for military service. Every midshipman graduates with a commission as an officer, not as an enlisted member.

  • Service obligation: This obligation is mandatory and begins after graduation.

  • Professional sports: Policies regarding a service member's ability to pursue professional sports have changed over the years, but the core requirement to serve remains. Currently, service academy athletes are still required to serve after graduation, though there are sometimes waivers or alternative reserve service options to allow for professional sports careers.
