Wants to blitz more in Houston, reportedly. But how much does Houston blitz? Would his desire to blitz more be a better fit with Vrabel’s attacking style on defense than it was in Houston?
Those were my thoughts.

Speaking of Houston I can recall some clamoring for nick caley as OC before Josh returned. Houston offense is putrid.
with those new WRs, I wonder if that has something to do with it?

A lot of people here wanted Caley, because he knew our system and Mcvays

They are down tank dell and another wr in their rotation.. thier OL has been herendous as well.

The Texans’ slot corner leads all defensive backs in pass rush attempts (more than all the Pats’ DBs combined). It sounds like CJGJ thought he deserved those opportunities instead of Pitre.

That’s very interesting and helpful in a couple of ways. It says if he comes here he won’t be joining a team that blitzes a lot. OTOH that might not matter as much if his issue was seeing somebody else’s number called all the time instead of his.

Houston just cut safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who was on the Super Bowl winning Eagles team last year.

Texans cut veteran DB C.J. Gardner-Johnson in surprise release after three games

Why not? He's better than Hawkins, obviously... and as of right this minute, he's better than Woodson too.

Is our goal to win games with an eye toward the POs, or to save money and build towards next year? Because otherwise, why are we keeping/signing some vets but not others...?

1) That's an incredibly bold statement about a veteran who's just been cut from his 3rd team in 3 years, this time in the middle of the season, for a team that can't do anything.

2) It's a building team, but you can pretend they're a playoff team if you want, join that cult, there's plenty of room.

He’s a faster longer Peppers,

Better in coverage than Pep but prefers to blitz
A Safety that loves to Blitz?? Would be nice knowing Gonzo plays on an Island. I think we should go after him.

Sign the Beast the possibilities.

Team and player recently agreed to a restructure, with Gardner-Johnson’s base salary for 2025 being reduced to the veteran minimum in exchange for a conversion to a signing bonus. That spread out guaranteed cap charges over several years, an indication this relationship would continue through at least the remainder of the campaign. Instead, Houston will take on a $5.66MM dead money charge for 2025 as a result of this move.

Changed my vote to Sign him. Go ahead and laugh but I see a poor man's Ed Reed. Exact same size as well. Although IMO Reed was a fan of deer antler.

they replaced most of their offensive line in the offseason (including laremy tunsil), but it didn't seem like it was improved, and the results on the field so far aren't good.

Yes, like us. Also they have a new OC in caley. Thier OL looks like how ours looked last season. Even without dell they still have Collins and a good TE.. they are underachieving..

If we're blitzing DBs I like the Marcus Jones slot corner blitz more. I think we've already got a few pressures off it and I think one sack was caused when the QB ran the other way into it so it wasn't Marcus' sack but he pretty much caused it.

We have some Dead woods who have damaging pictures of people: Jack Westover comes to mind.
