Ocho's "his way always works" didn't work in the post-2019 era and has yet to be proven in the CFB world, and not with the distractions he himself is allowing to happen.

We simply don't know how The Dynasty era players would have reacted if BB was telling them to cut out the distractions while a young tart was bending his ear before the game.

He is now being the exact kind of distraction he used to tell his players to avoid, and the players he is now coaching are not as mature as the average NFL player is.

Was Bunny even given a sideline pass and does she count as one of the 50? I'd be curious if there's a rules violation here by allowing her to roam the sidelines and talk to other coaches and staffers which she is doing if she's not considered an employee?

This is what things look like when you take off the rose-colored glasses, but of course in some people's eyes this guy must be a h8r.

The article makes the point that not only is the Bunny thing a distraction to his own team, it also is giving motivation to the other team to rub his face into it (so to speak, but maybe he does want to rub his face in it...).

One interesting statement in the piece:

It’s ludicrous to remove his agency in all this and pretend he’s completely under the spell of his younger girlfriend.

In other words, he's a grown-ass man who has had his own relationships in the past that haven't become a distraction and has coached others to not let their off-field life become a distraction, so there's no way to justify giving him a pass on all this.

Therefore it is sensible to ask just WTF he's thinking, just like we did in the MP/JJ/sons era.

And in turn it's sensible to expect all kinds of theories arise like maybe he does want to tank and make them fire him so he can collect the severance bonanaza.

The thing is, that theory fits the data points better than suggesting this is what Dynasty Era Bill would be doing, so it will pick up steam over time unless we see Bill make a big course correction.

The biggest burn in the piece is:

Belichick has become the failure everyone hoped Deion Sanders would be upon entering FBS.

It's an interesting contrast. To most people Bill would have been a safe choice, yet he's doing things that make Deion Sanders look conservative.

It goes on to point out this is looking so bad that the people who chose to hire Bill might be at risk of losing their jobs.
