OK then Brady sucked all on his own early in 2006. As a 3 time SB champ, he still had ****ty games. Why would we think that Maye would be above having a ****ty game. You helped make my point. Appreciate you
Brady averaged 45 more yards per game, had a higher Y/A, had 13 more TD's in 3 more games, 2 more INT's in 3 more games in 2006 compared to Maye. He also went 12-4 and won a clutch playoff game that year while Maye currently has 1 win in his career.

The only comparable stat is passer rating with a 0.2 difference in Maye's favor.

Oh and stat inflation is a thing.

Dumb comparison

It's worth noting Allen is a historical outlier for how much he jumped in year 3
I hate to make this comparison already but Zach Wilson had a lot of the exact same issues Maye is having right now with sailing throws and turnovers. Just saying. If Allen is an example of the payoff for a raw QB, Wilson is the “payoff” the other way.

All I know is Maye has a lot of work ahead of him and so do the coaches. Head scratcher why he sat out the Giants preseason game.

Maye can do it. I just hope we don't give up before he goes to another team and turns it around.

We need to allow him to play like a gunslinger imo like Farve otherwise we are gonna see what we saw today.

You're comparing a 3 time Super Bowl champion to Drake Maye? I didn't help you make any point. Your premise was that the QB was going to struggle picking up McDaniels' offense. You can make that case now with Maye, but not Brady.
You're right that I did use McDs offense as a barometer, but the overall point that I was trying to make is that even the greatest QB of all time had struggles and that it was ridiculous that some people are saying that he is a bust and want to move on.

Using McD was misleading on my part so I apologize for that, but the point you helped make is that QBs have ****ty games regardless of the OC.

Ya, I'm sure they are thinking about it right now...

Yes, QB's have bad games. However, we're still waiting for Maye to have one good game. He has one legit win to his name. The other two were spotted by Brissett and Milton. He's never broken 300 yards passing and a lot of his yards come in garbage time to make his stats look a little more respectable. We saw the same thing today: one early TD drive, field goal and 233 passing yards when the game was within reach. Tacked on 50+ yards when the defense backed off. This pattern from him concerns me.

I also find the pattern concerning. I am just further from the ledge that several others on this forum. This game was discouraging

Absolutely fuc.king ridiculous that he barely played in the preseason.

I understand he's getting rushed a lot. That's real. But his mechanics are just all over the place. Who is his QB coach? Are they working on the basics?

Ok, unless the Bills overcome a 15 point deficit in the next 7 1/2 minutes, the once illustrious (well, except the Jets of course) AFC will be 0-4 and the *only* Conference to not have a win! This particular embarrassment may have occurred before but I can’t recall. Sounds like we may need to start a “pool” to select which team will become first in our division to win a game this year!

Stop this nonsense. What you saw today was a quarterback lacking discipline, lapsing into poor mechanics and off w/timing. If you want things to get worse, let him be a sandlot "gunslinger." He still is very green -- two years at UNC and less than a full season last year. He needs to be more accountable foremost with himself: iron out the footwork/throwing motion/post-snap timing inconsistencies and gain intuitive understanding of what it means to get in rhythm with throws on various drops.

Maye is strong and athletic but still 6-foot-5/220 lbs. of raw material. He needs experience and lots of it. We only can hope he's smart and dedicated enough to learn what's needed to begin mastering the pro game.
