The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Who wears a Bridgewater State cheerleading ring to a UNC football game? Is this broad a psycho or what? She's got Fatal Attraction looney tunes written all over that face. Bunny going to put a bunny in Bill's soup.

I take it Murray is not a BB fan

He’s not lying tho.

Unfortunately for him, his legacy is still being written.

Brady has won their post-Patriots competition in like a 56-3 blowout. Jesus.

His legacy has been cemented as a football coach.

Anyone else who says it hasn't has an agenda.

Nobody in their right mind looks at Walsh and what he did in Stanford and affect what he did in San Fran. Nobody in their right mind says Jordan's legacy got affected going to the Wiz (unless your a Bronsexual).

If Brady didn't win a SB in Tampa, it would be crazy to think that would affect his status as a GOAT player. Especially with the nature of football and all of it's moving parts.

It's funny how before the game all the talk was about Bill, and now it's how TCU is such a strong team, yet they aren't even nationally ranked.

I just watched highlights then Bill's presser and it was like a rewind of his last two years here, "too many mistakes", yada yada.

Well, who picked those players who made the mistakes, and who coached them? What happened to accountability?

You're goading right?

I disagree. Belichick has had the GOAT label for a while now, but his performance post Brady in Nee England, and a dismal failure at UNC would seriously throw that into question. SABAN’s success at Alabama changes the metrics for Belichick, Walsh didn’t have that hanging over him, nor did he have a GOAT label at stake.

This is the bigger thing. Belichick as an all time great coach is set in stone.

Belichick's status as unquestionably viewed as the best of all his peers you could compare him to (Walsh, Shula, Reid, Landry, Gibbs etc) is on shakier ground mostly because his post Brady stint was comparable to his Cleveland stint which we gave him the benefit of saying "he grew out of it and got better".

I said this earlier, but a lot of the NFL landscape is already saying "well Reid way better than Belichick without his HOF QB and now that he has one, he's winning rings too". If Reid gets one more or even two more, there's going to be a non insignificant amount of fans and media putting him at the same level or ahead of Belichick. Because the perception is "yeah Bill is a great coach, but what set him apart from everyone else is 19 years with Tom Brady"

The only argument I have with that is tha Reid is winning Lombardi’s with a first ballot HOF QB.

I may have misread that, you could be referring to his years in Philly.

Saban went to Alabama at his peak while Belichick is making the move to UNC when we all know he has lost his fastball.

Do you devalue Jordan's GOAT status because of his run with the Wizards?

And you guys wonder why I bring up the Giants rings.

I tried to stay out of the way and let you guys have your fun yesterday. I spoke up on a few things just so you didn't think I was hiding. But I'm still here and not going anywhere.

Correct. And there will be questions about what was so special about BB if any coach could win a bunch of rings if they had a once-in-a-lifetime QB like Brady for 20 years.

Bill is not the cultural icon Jordan is.

Jordan didn't embarrass himself with the Wizards. Also winning was secondary to Jordan back then compared to proving he could still play. So I would say no it doesn't devalue it all that much.

Any coach hasn't and didn't. Only a select few have won multiple and Bill has at least doubled everyone's SB rings except Noll.
