That’s my guy I really want for the Pats. Very rare prospect. He was an all American track guy, and he’s concentrating on football only. Had an invite to the Olympic trials. Had a tough game, but he had the backbreaking insurance TD for S. Carolina, a 67 yard bomb.

He had a great play as a gunner on the punt team too which was the play that impressed me most. His development is going to be interesting to track because if he puts it together, he has the size and athleticism to dominate. Had one awful drop though.

Agreed, the drop was bad, but he sure made up for it.

I was thinking about next years and how many top quality talent there could be (this what I think about ) and how it compares to previous drafts. This put me in mind of 2011, the first draft I followed. What a first round!

Reuben Bain Jr. #4 for the ‘Canes. That’s a guy I want in a Patriots jersey. Never heard of him before this game against ND. I have no idea what his athletic traits are. But he’s big, mean, and made some big plays in big moments. Reminds me of the type of defensive player that Belichick would have coveted. I’ll be keeping an eye on him this year.

I will forever have a special place for MattyP. The bend but don’t break d, as boring as it was to watch worked but this seals the deal for me…

I remember a report after Super Bowl XLIX. When Malcolm Butler's pick capped the win, Patricia didn't believe it was real -- he was so over-focused on what to do next it took a few moments to sink in. I thought that was hilarious.

Matty P is well respected in football circles. He is very smart by football standards. I think he will do well at Ohio State. I thought it was a great hire by Ryan Day. Did you watch Edelman's podcast when he had Matty P on?

But some people on PatsFans hate him. For example posters keep saying how awful he was as an offensive coordinator when BOB and AVP the next two years were worse. Why single out Matty P and ignore BOB and AVP? It is a weird thing on PatsFans.

I don’t think anyone hates Patricia. He was hired in a OC role he had no business being hired in and that isn’t his fault. Funny what happens when he is hired for a role he actually specializes in doing.
