Meh. Not a big loss. Won’t move the needle
It's not a great loss. He is getting a bit older, and I trust there are reasons why he was released. Can't say on one hand Vrabel knows his roster and what's best for it, and then say WTF when he makes a decision. And this was HIS decision.
Agree. He was better than Dugger, but was overrated here. He's not going to be a big loss.

Anyone downplaying this is coping so hard. Peppers was one of the Patriots' best players. One of the worst rosters in the NFL just got worse.
That says a lot more about the roster than Peppers. He isn’t moving the needle either way. Replaceable.

Curious who will take the roster spot.
Probably who they already have. Problem is that Gonzalez has a nagging hamstring, Davis has a history of injuries and we just tried to get rid of our other starting safety.

Our secondary which I thought was pretty good isn’t looking as solid given the circumstances. Guys are gonna have to step up.

On the bright side, after this move, the Patriots will be close to having zero available cap in 2026, instead of being millions in the red. Yay!!

Okay this is going to drive me crazy. Was Vrabel wrong? I don’t know.

But here comes people out of the woodwork to say Peppers isn’t good. So predictable.

Def beginning to feel like a “we suck so let’s just embrace the suck but play young guys” vibe.

I mean…they like Dell Pettus that much?
The visions of grandeur of a playoff team where never realistic. This is year 1 of the rebuild, and we found a QB to build around. If you didn't figure out the roster sucked over the last 3 seasons and hoped one offseason fixed all the problems, you are delusional. Goal 1 is just to get a winning recored and see what happens from there. 9 wins could be close to playoff contention, and its possible, but all rebuilding takes time. 5 wins with our ease of schedule if not likely. 8-9 is more realistic.

They gain about $2M in cap space this year, about $2M in 2026, and about $8M in 2027.

Vrab wants to give the media reason to slam him and the team.
By releasing Peppers? Will cause the usual consternation, but in the overalls scheme, it's a nothing burger. This roster is getting overhauled and re done. It won't be done in an offseason. One more draft and FA period and lets see where its at.

We're just

It's embarrassing how quickly people flip flop. He was unanimously considered one of the Patriots best players, but is somehow now "not a big loss". Ridiculous.

And I blame Wolf.

Is Simmons still out there?
