Here is the PS so far i think.... correct me if wrong. Keep in mind you can have 16 (17 with an international path player... which i think they will do for sure as they had someone like that who was promising on the the roster before cuts.

Tommy Devito - QB
Terrell Williams - RB
CJ Dippre - TE
Gee Scott - TE
Alec Lindstrom - C
Mehki Butler - G
Jack Conley - IOL

Bradyn Swinson - DE
Cam Reilly - LB
Miles Battle - CB
Brandon Crossley - CB
Charles Woods - CB
Woods and Devito go to the 53

Yea. I mean they did land decent players after Tom left but missed on way too many high picks.

2019- Harris, Jake Bailey
2020-Dugger, Jennings, Ownenu
2021-Mac (one good year), Barmore, Rham
2022- Marcus Jones, Jack Jones (off-the-field notwithstanding)
2023- Agree. 6 from that draft are on the current 53.
2024- Awful
2025- Too soon to say but seems like they did a good job.
2019 and 2020 and 2021 do not matter now. We are rebuilding. 2023 and 2025 drafts were good, 2022 and 2024 sucked. We are on a 50% pace, not all drafts sucked.

Re: Charles Woods - he was a UDFA in 2024 with the Rams who made their 53. NE's special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer, while previously with the Rams, was known to do their special teams player evaluations and help make selections for late round picks and UDFAs. I am guessing Springer probably did work on Woods in late 2023/early 2024 while still with the Rams that was used as the basis to have him signed there.

To me Eagles and Jets did the best on the claims.

2019 and 2020 and 2021 do not matter now.
Sure they do. They matter because we could have talented players in their prime still on the team.

No team hits on all drafts. If a team lands 2 starters and 2 reserves each draft they are shooting par.

The problem is Bill didn't do that.

Jerry's been great for us last year too so that helps in trusting his judgement.

Yup. Not a surprise, if we didn’t think we had 53 players worth of talent, no reason to expect one of the cuts to be claimed. The only possible worrisome cut was Swinson, and he cleared and is signing to the practice squad.
So essentially we still have 10-15 practice squad level players on our team.

Just imagine talent level on last year team.

Vrabel is essentially saying "oh yeah they 'requested their release' my ass" here. Pure gold.
Exactly what he's saying. I wanna call it gold and laugh too, but can't help but feel it's petty.

No they don't. Players from those drafts would be FAs and we would need cap space to sign them. We can use the same cap space to sign other guys, like Williams, etc. After 4 years, maybe 5 for a 1st round pick, it is a FA pool, the draft does not matter.

Worth noting that Charles Woods was playing gunner with the Rams, so makes sense that Baker was the one cut.
yep.

I do get why people are concerned about carrying only 3 RB’s, 3 guards on the roster.

But this is exactly what expanded practice squads are for. In an in game situation, what are the odds we lose 2 RB’s, or 2 guards, in the same game? We have Ben Brown available to shift over if needed as well.

The team not desperately going after any guard or RB available is not the worst sign.

IMO it's petty from the player... "Oh they didn't cut me, actually, I TOLD them to cut me, I didn't want to play there anyway!"

10-15 on the team? Do you mean on the 53? I wouldn’t go that far. We cut to 53 yesterday, cut Bourne and Baker as PS-level talent. Some could question if Westover, Mapu, and Pettus are good enough for a mediocre team’s 53. So that would be 48-51 NFL roster level players through this AM, or the equivalent of 2-5 PS level players on the 53. Not 10-15, but higher than the 0 we should be at.

In theory DeVito and Woods should be NFL-caliber, replacing Bourne and Baker; DeVito has won games in the league and looked better than Zappe doing so. But this is yet to be determined, really.

PS so far AFAIK - 14 out of 16
