The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

This is nonsensical stat, Tom was his QB for twenty years. He had a better record with Testeverde than Kosar… so what?

You’re comparing a team builder to a single player, why not compare a kitchen table to a power drill.

You jokers need to twist yourselves in pretzels to explain to us how the most successful coach in NFL history somehow inexplicably sucked at his job. Talk about a total lack of awareness.

Bill drafted and developed Brady, Brady learned how to read defenses from Bill… Tom’s words. Bill doesn’t have to qualify his record with or without… that’s just what childish haters do.
Look at the greatest coaches in pro football history at the start and end of their dynasty when they had to start over from scratch.

Now tell us how Bill is different from the greatest ever… he’s not.

The above is what YOU asked for and I answered it... yet again. You just don't like the answer.

Without Brady, Bill doesn't compare to any of the top HCs without their top QBs. He's not even close with 8 of 11 losing seasons, before Brady fell into his lap and after he chased him away.

Maybe Kraft was pissed off at all the sniping from Bill and lack of gratitude for making him a very rich man
Maybe he was, but taking shots at the guy in a documentary after he left changed my view of Kraft.

And they both became very rich men because of Brady. Without Brady they don't have the 6 SB rings that he won here.

I'll disagree here and move on.

Except for JE11, every player you mentioned at one point was the highest paid at their position.
It sure seemed like Bill let a lot of top players walk over money, from Seymour to Brady and many players in between.

They all became rich off each other and off th backs of the NFL players that proceeded them and not just the QBs all the players.

Only a moron would think UNC will be happy with 8 wins plus a Holiday Bowl appearance. They're not giving him $10 million a year to win 8 games and go to the Holiday Bowl, dipshit.

This is college. A talented coach can turn a team around on a dime. Arizona State went from 3-9 one year to the playoffs the very next under the new system.

It's still not the "BCS" anymore you clueless moron. The bowls still exist but the BCS disappeared 11 years ago, dumbass.

You obviously don't know **** about college football so I am done with you. Back to the ignore file you go, imbecile.
Hey Einstein, the AZS HC went 3 - 9 his first season, but you expect Belichick to go the Peach Bowl this season or else he is finished.

How do you manage to tie your shoes.

When they got older and he felt the money was better spent on extending younger players/signing FAs he sure did.

Yep. Bill gets credit for winning when Brady was here... and he should. But his losing when he didn't have Brady is also part of his story. Can't cherry pick one or the other, you need both parts to tell his story as a HC.

I also can't think of another coach who fell off a cliff like Bill did once his top QB left. He might not have cratered in the end like he did if he got some real help instead of bringing in yes men like Matt Patricia.

It is hilarious how the Belichick Krishnas are doing everything they can to minimize expectations.

When you proclaim yourself “the 33rd NFL team” you sure are going to look awfully silly playing the Belk Bowl.

You like to create fake facts with no data to back anything up… typical hater.

Jimmy Johnson - season one: 1-15 - season two: 7-9
Bill Walsh - season one: 2-14 - season two: 6-10
Chuck Noll - season one: 1-13 - season two: 5-9 - season three: 6-8
Tom Landry - season one: 0-11-1 - season two: 4-9-1 - season three: 5-8-1
Bill Parcells - season one: 3-12-1 - season two: 9-7

That’s ^ what building a franchise up from nothing looks like. These guys suck also I assume? The records after their dynasty runs ended was similarly as bleak. Also why comparing one player to a guy who has to build up an entire program is peak hater stupidity. But keep doing you…. oh yeah, and there’s this:

In order of championships:
Paul Brown
Bill Belichick
George Halas
Curly Lambeau
Vince Lombardi

In order of playoff wins:
Bill Belichick
Vince Lombardi
Paul Brown
George Halas
Curly Lambeau

In order of playoff win percentage:
Vince Lombardi
Bill Belichick
George Halas
Curly Lambeau
Paul Brown

In order of regular season games over 500:
George Halas
Bill Belichick
Paul Brown
Curly Lambeau
Vince Lombardi

Years in the playoffs:
Bill Belichick
Paul Brown
George Halas
Vince Lombardi
Curly Lambeau

There's only one guy on this list above who is ranked first or second in every category.

He won 31 playoff games, the next closest won 9.

Never double down on stupid.

I completely agree. Both Kraft and Belichick have handled this poorly.

Belichick never built a franchise from nothing... ever. So those examples are irrelevant. It was Parcells who drafted the foundation for the first run of the dynasty.

None of those names had a 4 season run with a .426 win pct and one historic playoff beatdown after their top QB left. That's more than enough of a sample size to matter.

Impressive. #ThankYouTom

There was another coach in between Parcells and BB porkchop.

Not even a bad year but One year without being in the AFC Championship and Brady completely jumps ship, at least Kraft and Bill tried and are trying to put the pieces back together.
