And just so everyone is clear, the NFL has banned giving players ownership stakes. Any talk of Brady buying his way into the Pats with the Krafts would have been met with calls for investigation that Brady took home team discounts knowing there was a verbal agreement at the end of his playing days, he'd be given a corner office.

You have to do something nasty to be put in jail or convicted nowadays. Prosecutors just don't prosecute criminals anymore even when charges are filed. Everything is a plea deal to misdemeanors/probation/fines.
