How does Howie keep doing this? Metchie to Eagles.

Metchie is a long way removed from his Bama days. As a fellow Canadian I'm cheering for him, but I don't think this is a big boon for the Eagles.

Is he better than Polk and Baker the answer is a resounding yes.
The guy is averaging 20 receptions for 206 yards, and has one career NFL touchdown.

As of this moment your six receivers appear to be Diggs, Douglas, Williams, Boutte, Chism and Hollins.

Which one of those do you suggest Metchie will replace?

On top of that, he will be a free agent in 2026!

Hollins

I knew there’d be one that would be upset that we didn’t make this trade for an average to below average receiver.

Metchie got derailed by cancer, who knows how long if ever he’ll get back to normal. Also who knows if “normal” was ever good enough to be a competent NFL WR. He’s tiny.

Who are we cutting to fit him on the 2025 Patriots roster? Nobody is the answer…

He doesn't have to be a WR1. He will be a very servicable WR#3 behind Smith and Brown competing w Dotson.

It will be interesting how the Eagles respond in 2025 being hunted again. The Lions and 49ers will be coming back relatively healthy, so their path isn't going to be easy this year. Packers underachieved and I think it's only a matter of time before they make some noise.

OMG I said not long ago the Texans and Bucs have the deepest WR's rosters. I was watching Metchie closely: we should have been on that. Watch him become a weapon with the Eagles...he will be an afterthought Receiver in that Offense.

49ers are very overrated

yup. So a team trading for a 3rd/4th WR (who is really unproven) is not a big deal, so this thread is pretty much off the mark. Howie didn't do anything great here.
