Who do you think will win the battle? Borregales (youth) or Romo (experience)?

Borregales. Unless he misses like 3 XP in the next game, which would be the first three he's ever missed ever.

I am a bit concerned he doesn’t have a boot for a leg
Think his range is limited to 48-49 ish.

They should let them do a kicker's version of "Horse" to decide who stays..

if his reliable limit is under 50, we need a better kicker.

I have no idea. I think you would have to watch both side by side in camp to know who is winning that battle. But I’m glad it’s a battle, that just strengthens both of them.

Andres Borregales... draft pick over the second year player...

we could try to keep two with the intention of trying to trade JPR... but thats unfair to the player o most likely he will be released in the final cut downs

This could be like the 05 camp when Pats had Adam V and Robbie Gould. Vinatieri kept the job but left as a free agent the next year and Gould went on to have a 20 year career with Bears and other teams...

Kicker Competition

If we are going to go on stats, as well as leg strength, Romo has to be the winner at this point. He seems to have very few misses all camp so far.

I was rooting for Borregales, but he seems to have more misses, and I’m not sure he has the power Romo has. I know he was a draft pick, but it was a 6th round pick, you have to go with the better kicker.

What are your thoughts.

Springer said the fact

Borregales was drafted doesn’t guarantee him the spot over Parker Romo.
Said the job will be earned and best kicker gets it.
One of the closest battles in camp so far.
If either kicker misses during the preseason could be more than significant.

I think Romo has proven to be more accurate and has a powerful leg. I want Borregales to win, but he was a 6th round pick, so easy to cut and maybe move to the practice squad.

This is a true statement, but I also would not expect him to say the draft pick has the spot nailed down and there’s no hope for Romo.

Mods please merge my post to kicker battle.

Thank you

Dude snuck a 57 yarder just over the crossbar and now he's Adam Vinatieri.

Cutting Andy Borregales would be cutting Chad Ryland again. All this is, is a setup from the usual suspects to cry about 'wasted draft picks' for the next 10 years.
