5 starters penciled in - campbell, wilson, brown, onwenu, Moses .

Backups - jacobs , Bryant, sow, Wallace .

Possible 10th addition - Lowe

Trade - Strange

Cut - bradbury

All rest do not even matter

Strange and Sow might be fighting out for one spot but Sow might win due to versatility.

As for wide receivers I think baker makes the cut . Potential is too high to cut him now . Which means Chism will be signed onto PS if available.

Rest of battles really do not matter . How does swinson stack against others. Since he is a 4th rounder he might just make the cut as a developmental prospect.

Mapu and tavai would probably be cut .
Bourne - injury settlement.

I tried the 53 picker and noticed that it was pretty easy to get to 53. I didn't have jennings, mapu and tavai make the team. But I was able to fit Chism as 7th wr, get Scott as te3 , 4 running backs, 10 olinemen and also Jeremiah pharma. I am thinking I have gone a bit too light on OLB.

QB (2) Drake Maye, Joshua Dobbs
RB (4) Antonio Gibson, Lan Larison, Rhamondre Stevenson, TreVeyon Henderson
TE (3) Hunter Henry, Austin Hooper, Gee Scott Jr.
WR (7) Stefon Diggs, Demario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, Javon Baker, Efton Chism III
C (1) Ben Brown
G (3) Mike Onwenu, Jared Wilson, Sidy Sow
T (6) Will Campbell, Morgan Moses, Marcus Bryant, Demontrey Jacobs, Caedan Wallace, Vederian Lowe
DE (3) Keion White, Milton Williams, Elijah Ponder
DT (4) Christian Barmore, Joshua Farmer, Khyiris Tonga, Jeremiah Pharms Jr.
ILB (3) Robert Spillane, Jack Gibbens, Christian Elliss
OLB (3) Harold Landry, Bradyn Swinson, K’Lavon Chaisson
CB (5) Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis, Alex Austin, D.J. James, Marcus Jones
SS (2) Kyle Dugger, Dell Pettus
FS (3) Jabrill Peppers, Craig Woodson, Marcus Epps
ST (4) Bryce Baringer, Brenden Schooler, Julian Ashby, Andres Borregales

Total Players: 53

Who is the backup center?

The guy i want to see the most is Handerson. Would be cool to see him with Maye for a quarter, maybe two

Praying our OL does its job, but the trenches always feel the most vanilla during pre-season

Typically we aren't going to see a lot of blitzing in a pre-season game, but I want to see how the O-line does in one on battles. Can we generate push and open up running lanes. Can we hold our ground in the pass game and avoid the immediate pressure (something we were horrific at last year).

How does Henderson look in real games situations, would love to see him on a screen or two, and a stretch run to the outside to see if his play speed is as advertised.

Will any of the WRs 4-7 standout.

Does Maye have command of the offense, couple of positive drives would be great.

Can any of our younger TEs get a leg up on the #3 spot.

Can we generate pressure from our Dline, both outside and inside in both the run and pass game.

From I read, many of Washington's starters won't play, so it's not unreasonable to expect our guys to be very good to dominate when we have our starters are out there.

Of course we all know what the most important thing is in these pre-season games, but it's a word I won't utter.

Come on Sam, let's give the kid a chance. Simmons has struggled against Karlaftis from what I read, good against everyone else.
Ignore him, watch the tape on Simmons vs Oregon, the 1 team with any talent he played in 2024, NOT GOOD.
Speed beat him, stunts confused him. pretty bad before he got hurt in that game. I mean PFF had him as a 36.2 rating and that was pretty accurate.

He's going to struggle this year. He has the physical tools, and we will see if he develops but Campbell should have a better year 1 than Simmons.

With Simmons you have to project out a bit, young guy, great physical tools, chance of a bust, chance of an all pro.

Campbell, tape says he's at least an adequate and solid LT equal to Joe Thuney when he played LT last year. Thuney was playing pro bowl guard and played league average LT.
Like Thuney, if he can't be better than that he moves to guard and should be great.

1% chance Campbell busts as a player, Simmons is a 50/50 proposition. Simmons more upside as a LT, but more downside. With Simmons you are hoping the brain clicks with the physical ability. With Campbell you are hoping the lack of pure physical ability (short arms) is made up by his brain which is way ahead of Simmons. Or you move him to guard if it doesn't

It seems that we have gone from the worst OL in the league to the worst backup OL's in the league

Who is the backup center?
Wilson . I was thinking we could move Lowe or sow to LG in that scenario.

Rationale was getting wallace and lowe more understudy time under the online staff so that we have Wallace or Lowe or jacobs take over as RT and RG. I don't think we will retain onwenu at current price point. He might need to take a pay cut.

I see rham , dugger , onwenu , Henry and hooper as cuts next year .

Maybe, but I think they want Wilson locked into guard or they would have had him practice snapping the ball to Drake more.
