Dude should just shut up and prove it on the field. All the boasting and predictions never pan out.

With QBs its is a bit different since they touch the ball every single play. You can see relatively soon who has a chance to make it and who will not. Last season I saw far more composure with Maye. The fact that Chicago passed on Maye bodes well for his future.

You can make all the excuses that you want. It makes no difference to me.

I called Mac Jones a BUST from the beginning. I called Josh Allen a Stud if he received the right coaching. Why? Because Allen had the size, arm, toughness, no attitude, raw materials from the beginning.
And everyone was saying Williams was very similar to Mahomes, but a better athlete. Calling Mac a bust is no great feat. He doesn't possess high caliber athleticism, coupled with a weak mind, not a recipe for success. I too was very high on Josh, but that very easily you've gone the other way. I've seen his type drafted many, many times in my day. Quite often they don't work out, I'm sure I liked some of those guys too, so I'm certainly not going to get too excited that I was right on Josh. I'm not pulling for Caleb one way or the other. I certainly didn't like some of things I heard about him pre-draft. Still, far too early to him a bust. Maybe he will bust, maybe he won't, I really have no idea.

Two tough game in Four Days to start just brutal. I hate those Thursday night Games for NFL Teams.
Luckily both are at home. I doubt we start 2-0 though but if we do that would be amazing.

I’m not so sure. They got a great O line now and added some good defensive players.
Not sure I’d call the OL “great” and the QB is a big negative.

I didn't see it with Caleb, as far as the "net great thing" . Sure he can run around and extend plays in college but the NFL DLmen are much faster and he will not be able to do that as well. In college he did not seem to read through his progressions.

20/6 td to int ratio, better than 3/1. 6 picks in 562 attemps. He got pounded, 68 sacks behind a line that was almost as bad as ours. Sure some of those sacks came from him holding the ball and maybe not seeing his reads quick enough, but he was a rook. I am certainly no Caleb apologist, but man we are quick to write him off after one year. Remember there were several NFL scouts and analysts that likened him to Mahomes, but a better athlete. Again, I don't care if he works out or not, but I am giving him this year behind a better line and with much better offensive coaching before I declare what he is/isn't.

That was my thought prior his draft, he was behind Maye and Daniels for me. Once drafted I didn't care. Not writing him off so much as reminiscing on my draft take.

I think we can't underestimate the situation rook QBs go to. For example, I watched plenty of Bo Nix throughout his 17 year college career (surely I jest, I believe it was 6 years) and I was never really impressed with him. He goes to a good situation in Denver with a bright offensive coach and he has a great rook year. Say Caleb goes to Denver and Nix goes to the dumpster fire that was the Bears last year, how do the two do then? Maybe Nix would still succeed and Caleb would still falter, but I can t say either way today. I am very interested to see what Caleb does this year under a much more QB friendly situation.

I am also curious, He has significant weapons so he should do well and a QB friendly offense and coach

The next Mahomes.

That quote and a dollar will buy a cup of coffee.

The people that said that are far more qualified than you or I.

And for a little more historical context.

Joe Montana's first year as a starter, which was his 3rd year, so he had time to learn and play some games:

19 tds / 12 ints on 488 attempts.
SF was 13-3, had a very good team and a HOF coach
So Caleb had a better statistical year than Montana's 3rd year in the NFL, his first year as a starter, and Montana was in far, far better situation.

Caleb seems douchey to me, I wouldn't want him over Maye, but the jury is still out on wether or not he will be a good NFL QB.

I had the same thought about Caleb at the draft, had him at three or even lower. Just something about him that gives me the creeps. But we shall see this season if he has "it" or not.

Don't forget the Ben Johnson angle he turned Goff around. I know sometimes it doesn't work out for some Coordinators in the Head Coaching role but I hope Johnson sticks. Caleb Williams Pre draft was called Mahomes light.

I wouldn't write him off after a year that is very premature: he has mobility and arm strength going for him. He just needs some other things which can be coached.

In my opinion, Caleb has an amazing arm and mobility like prime Russel Wilson. Ben Johnson is a top notch offensive coach. They have surrounded him with weapons and improved the OL. Barring injury he will be a top 7 or 8 qb this year.
Yes he is a douche but will outperform Drake this year.

You are doing it again "but will outperform Drake this year". You can not state something as a fact, you can only give an opinion

Its implied that its an opinion but in case some think I am claiming fact
