And like the coaching staff has been.
Captain dropped 3 grumpy posts in a row. White has the makings of a star. Might actually see it this year with competent coaching and some really good dudes playing on the Line with him. He was playing with bums last year.

I agree but to date White has been a disappiontment. I am hopeful like you, but if results in 2023 and 2024 are objectively evaluated, the Captain is right. I hope White shines this year, and I expect him too, but not everyone lives in hope for the future. I can not blame the Captain for commenting on what he has seen over the last two years. Vrabel says he likes White's attitude, so let's hope White explodes in Y3.

Let's also hope the Pats sign Wilkins even if it is for 2026 and beyond. Next year with Wilkins, Barmore, Williams, White, Landry, Chaisson, Peppers, Duggar, Farmer, Swinson, Spillane, Gonzo, Woodson, Davis, M Jones, etc., after one year with Vrabel is a dream to wish upon a star. It also means we can draft for OL, TE, and another WR in the first two days of the 2026 draft.

The #1 pick in the draft is one bonus pick? LOL

The pick is the prize for finishing last.

The other picks are essentially the same as the Super Bowl winners.

I think there are mitigating circumstances for White. His first year he was a rook 2nd rounder, wasn't expecting him to set the world on fire. Last year was such a complete **** show top tp bottom I take that whole year with a grain of salt. 1 Patriot place was in complete disarray last year, and White was clearly unhappy. That said this is the year I expect him to make a big jump for the reasons stated in my earlier post. Regarding Wilkins, I've made my thoughts on that clear on other threads, get that man on a plane asap and check the foot out in person. Even if he misses half a season or more, he is a very good player and would give us an insanely talented and deep front for the future.

This is a matter of perception.

The worst team gets ONE bonus pick compared to the Super Bowl team. Otherwise, the choices are equal.
Or traded 224 for 1 and a few very minor differences.
This makes no sense to me.

On the draft value chart, that [ick is infinitely more valuable.

I know this was a dumb trade, but remember: the Vikings traded their ENTIRE DRAFT for that pick.

You forgot about Hightower as a 25th selection in R1.
I stopped at 20-21. They have hit on guys late, obviously, like Hightower, Watson, McCourty, Mankins. But you also have 4 busts taken in the latter 3rd of the first round (5 if you count Strange).

I think the record is pretty telling. The Patriots have excelled at picking players in the first two thirds of the first round. And they have a .500 record or so picking in the latter third of the first round.

But this goes along with their grading system. They always seem to feel that the bonafide stars with high scores are the ones that go 1-20. The next 40 guys from 20-40 have 2nd round scores.

Some people see mitigating circumstances, some people only look at the last two years results. I can see both sides. This year should tell the conclusion for White.

Just when you thought that sloPolk was the worst draft pick of last year's bunch...

And while sloPolk might indeed have zero trade value, this mother****er has Negative trade value. Get his punk ass out of the ****ing building ASAP. Never should've been drafted in the first place, in ANY round. Two-thirds of the league's teams as per Bedard didn't even have him on their draft boards At All. The sooner he's not around to infect the minds of the 1st- & 2nd-year players here the better.

2/3s of the league didn't even have him on their draft board? First I've heard of that. Bedard is a turd.

what is the point of shipping him out now?

We need practice bodies; he has been practicing as a gunner.

Sign another WR, one who will take his opportunity a bit more seriously than this ****ing m-m-moron... Shouldn't be that difficult.

Did you add up the trade value for the picks? The #1 prize for finishing last, the #1 pick in the first round, has nearly as high a trade valuable as the first pick trade value in rounds 2 through 7 added up.

Seems like you are not giving the #1 pick in the draft any respect.

But the picks are more valuable. You can do a lot more in trades. But I'd venture to say having that top pick makes you look like a genius. Belichick picked in the top 10 or 12 multiple times and never missed (Warren, Seymour, Mayo). Heck, you can go to 20 or so and only find Maroney as a bust. Gonzalez, Graham, Chandler Jones, Solder, Wilfork were hits of varying degrees. All the other 1st round busts came later.

You forgot about Hightower as a 25th selection in R1.

Mayo was a Miss. Should've been Ryan Clady. Then he never would've been our HC either.
