I was actually surprised (which I'm rarely surprised by anything), that Kraft admitted his mistake (which I knew Mayo as HC was a mistake and said so on here when he was named HC), by getting rid of him after just one season. It's not something I thought that Kraft was going to do. Then, hopefully righting the ship by getting Vrabel.
It became apparent to me very early on last season that Kraft was going to be left with no choice but to admit his mistake and fire Mayo after just one season. The utter incompetence was just too obvious. There were a lot of people telling me that I was being too harsh, and that Mayo “deserved” 2 or 3 seasons. Screw that. The New England Patriot fans “deserve” a competent Head Coach! Mayo never deserved a damn thing, and he certainly never earned anything. He should have never even sniffed an NFL Head Coaching job to begin with. In the end, I think it all worked out. I think Vrabel is the right guy to coach the Patriots moving forward, and I think he will be the Patriots Head Coach for many seasons to come. And no matter how bad it gets in the future, we can always say, “well, at least it’s going better than that ridiculous season when Jerod Mayo was the coach!”

What really lost me was Mayo's introductory press conference.

Yup. Nothing regarding football philosophy or roster-building, just a bunch of hifalutin hooey about "building character in young men and young women." It was shockingly bad.

Agree. From that moment on I knew how his tenure as the Patriots Head Coach was going to go. And I was right.

Mayo should have taken the opportunities he had outside the organization.. Browns, Falcons, Panthers..
Kraft needed Mayo to get him into the HOF.

Kraft simply would have outbid the other teams to build up Mayo as the next sensation.

It was contractual. I believe RK genuinely loves mayo the man, But post week 1 last season it got worse with each passing week.

This has to be the most optimistic we’ve been as fans since Brady left. Weak schedule has 9-10 wins as a possibility.

Yeah, you could tell how BK went all out for Mayo.

I'm surprised that there was any cap money left.

You didn’t enjoy finding out about “Young Thundercat” did you?
What made it really odd is that Mayo thought it went well. Then Robyn Glaser emerged. And there were lots of posters supporting the whole weird show when it was obviously a cluster fock.

The saddest part about this whole affair was they never cured racism.

you were right from the get go
I was wrong thinking the ship would right itself as Mayo got his feet under him. they did lose me around week 12 or 13.

It was to be expected.

Mayo was never a vocal player or coach. I don't recall him making post game statements or addressing the media at all. That had to be learned through on the job experience just like his new title. Unlike Rex Ryan who was a natural big mouth who relished being in front of the microphone and having an audience.
