Hey, maybe the Patriots could hire Bill Belichick as DC! I have heard he is pretty good at defense and might be looking for work soon....
BB as DC and McDaniels as OC would be a frightening team, but, of course, he would never buckle under to Vrabel and we would have to lock him out of the draft room (along with Bob Kraft).

They won 6 championships together

I figured it was a heart attack/stroke due to his weight, but hoping it was nothing serious.

This is now the 2nd time we’ve lost a new defensive coordinator. In house guys like Covington don’t count. Schiano was a turd and left for a college job and now this.

Did I miss something? He's still with the team, just working remotely last report I saw.

He’s going to be out until training camp, possibly longer. I’m not worried about the defense, need be Vrabel can coach it until Williams returns, and MacDaniels can definitely handle the offense.

Isn’t the LB coach doing the job during the absence ?

WIKI has it mentioned for at least a few weeks now. Not an overwhelming amount of experience...

Could be, my only point was that Vrabel could handle it if need be, as he has been a DC before.

Zak Kuhr will go down as one of the greatest DCs in NFL history. He won’t be a disappointment, like a Bill Parcells or a Tom Shula.

RobertWeathers, the above paragraph is 100% true.

Jordon Hudson would be demanding access to the coaching box, the film room, and the draft room.

The hell with that.

Nice hire, Mikey, way to go.

And the WRs coach? ****ing brilliant.

What else is expected when qualification #1 is, in his very own words, Loyalty?

It's a nice story.

But if someone asked you these questions ("Who is the mastermind who refuses to allow Belichick to discuss the intimate details of his personal life with the media? And who determined that Hard Knocks would be a distraction during training camp?") and you didn't answer, 1000% it's Bill Belichick, then I'd question if you were paying attention the last 25 years.

This is a bigger story than you think. Much more significant. Wrong hire for DC. Vrabel probably realizes that now.

My post was taken down that spelled it out bluntly. Let me say the decision to hire a defensive line coach who was unhealthy and severely overweight to begin with and load him up with coordinator responsibilities had a lot going against it. A lot.

Terrell Williams will not last as DC. I hope he can come back at his natural forte, as a position coach. Less stressful. He’s proven himself as a DL coach.

I think you are making some big assumptions as to what the root cause of his health issue is.

Yes he is fat. He eluded to taking better care of himself. What he did not elude to was the stress of the job as the cause.

I attribute it too many potato chips, lack of exercise, and ignoring his health.,
