The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

We are talking about whatever we want to talk about. I've been clearly stating it's a fact Bill has 8 SB rings Brady has 7.
Bill has 6 Super Bowl rings as a HC with Tom, zero without Tom
Tom has 6 Super Bowl rings with Bill, 1 without Bill where he took a sub .500 team the year prior to a Super Bowl win.
Bill has 2 Super Bowl rings as a coordinator under Bill Parcells
It's reasonable to think Brady would have won titles with any coach... because he did.
It's reasonable to think Bill would only win titles as a HC on the coattails of the greatest QB of all time... because he did.
Parcells developed and made Belichick, by BB's own admission
Brady made Belichick successful, by BB's own admission
Bill is .426 as a coach after Brady left. That accurately reflects what he was after Brady left.
Bill has 8 losing seasons out of 11 without Tom. That accurately reflects what he is sans Brady.
Bill and his sidekick these days are widely seen as a joke.
Nobody except Team Bill pom pom wavers care all that much about coordinator rings. Matt Patricia's 3 rings is not a bigger accomplishment than Don Shula's 2 rings.

No lies, all facts.

Got it in your head reasonable to think = facts

This explains why you're so unreasonable. When you think something you apparently just believe it as fact. Thanks for clearing that up. Between you making things up and you're liar friend it's all becoming clear.

It's reasonable to think those things because we have evidence. That is a factual statement.

It is amazing how much facts trigger some people. To some people, both jokes and facts are lies but lies are facts.

I have had enough of that dipshit and his lies. He is now in my ignore file. He will keep responding to every single post I make but I won't see it. You should consider doing the same.

You're lying again

Brady won zero Superbowls before he received coaching from Bill Belichick. Fact.

And he won in college as a QB before he had Bill as a coach and won after he had Bill as a coach.

Bill AS A HC was a dud before Brady and after Brady.

Brady is the only one who proved he could be successful AT HIS POSITION outside of the Bill/Tom partnership.

The problem you run into is that the 33% is actually longer than some HOF coaches full careers.

For years we were told that the Cleveland years should be ignored and that 2008 is a better reflection of what Bill is without Brady. But now with hindsight, we saw another 4 years of Bill without Brady, and it looks far closer to the Cleveland years than 2008, and 2008 looks more like Bill not making the playoffs with a stacked team because his QB was gone.

Now there is a fair aspect to this to say, Cleveland Bill and post Brady Patriots Bill were really lacking in the QB department and were below average there so it's harder to compare him to someone Reid without Mahomes because Reid's average QB was still better outside of Mahomes.

But you can't really do that and then say Bill and Brady were both essentially equal in value to the dynasty. Especially when Brady won a SB right away without Bill and then had another MVP caliber year the next season and then still made the playoffs (something Bill only did twice in 11 years) with a third HC in Todd Bowles.

It would be one thing if that 33% was like 2-3 seasons. It wasn't. It was 5 in Cleveland, 1 in New England at the starter, one in the middle, and 4 at the end. It's a lot of time and multiple stages of his career.

That doesn't mean he was irrelevant or didn't play a significant role. But it's not wrong to say Brady was far and away the the more important piece in that equation. Even the culture that persisted for 20 years pretty much evaporated with Brady there to give the a team a standard to live up to.

The results just speak for themselves. Brady was a winner before and after Belichick. Belichick was very similar to the guy he was before and after Brady. Had Belichick had a better QB, he probably would have looked more respectable in those years, but it also highlights who was the engine and who was the wheels.
I recently saw that he/she feels that 6 SBs by a HC is the same as 7 for a QB. That's a startling position.

I remember having a discussion with him/her about Bill before. He/she felt that all great HCs struggle without their top QBs. So I checked the numbers for all relevant HCs by taking out their elite QB or QBs to see how many losing seasons they had without them.

I took out Unitas and Marino for Shula and both McNabb and Mahomes for Reid. I also took out Ben for Tomlin, Manning for Dungy, Dawson for Stram, Wilson for Carroll and Bradshaw for Noll. What I found shocked me and is in the below list. You'll need to scroll down to the bottom to see Bill.
