Speaking for myself, I do not hate BB and am not at war with him.

I revere everything he did in making the Pats a dynasty.

I am disappointed in what he is doing now as it sullies his reputation.

I feel bad for his family as they have to deal with all of this. BB’s inheritance should rightly be going to his heirs, to a degree they helped him earn it, and his relationship with Bunny threatens all of that.

Maybe BB always had these proclivities and we just didn’t see it.

This is just a sad situation for those of us who revered the man, to have to watch.

If Bill was canned after 01 or 02 maybe his work under Parcells helps him continue his career as a DC somewhere at some point? Definitely not a HC though.

Bill built the teams that won 6 Super Bowls, dismissing it as all Brady is horseshit. He put a **** ton of great players and coaches around Brady.

I used to compare Belichick without Brady to Jeff Fisher, but then I realized how horrendously unfair that is. Jeff Fisher was much better than Belichick without Brady.

I've also heard a Wrecks Ryan comparison.

The most revealing part is that Bill had 8 losing seasons in those 11 without Brady, and he did it with the Pats and another team. No other supposed top HC has more than 3 losing seasons and most have less.

You can't just erase two thirds of a man's career (the best 2/3s) and think you are making any kind of a fair comparison. It's the most rediculous thing that you guys do.

Also there aren't that many coaches with 20 plus years to their name to make a fair comparison to and they all come up significantly short of Bill's 6 HC SB titles.

but of coaches in that category Knoll and Laundry have a similar number of losing seasons (and for all 3 most of the losing was at the beginning and end).

He might have passed his prime or Kraft ripped the rug out from underneath him too soon. We'll see how the next few years go. But either way his 8 Superbowls will never get passed by anyone. As hard as you try to manipulate the numbers those rings will always be there.

Having 8 as a coach isn't even in the same ballpark as 7 as a QB. That's your problem.

Never heard anyone talk about the story of Lombardi without Starr, Noll without Bradshaw, Landry without Staubach, Reid without Mahomes, or to put it another way if you're going to properly compare any coach to Bill without Brady you should first eliminate the best 2/3s of their career first.

So since Fisher was your comp you would have take away his SB appearance and of his 22 seasons if you remove 2/3s of his best years he doesn't have one winning season.
