I wouldn't call it a phobia but I'm not really a big fan of cities lol. Why don't you guys just spread out a little more.

I'd go to more Sox, Celts, and Bruins games if I didn't find it such a pain in the ass so it burns me the other way. But I love it out here in quiet woods of Foxboro. Even though I don't get into Boston or Providence that much I still like being close enough but also out in the sticks. I really like this area.
Spread out.. lol.. Boston is a beautiful city, full of historic places, and great food choices... however no longer welcoming to families, horrible traffic and over populated.. it's no longer the community centric city i grew up in and loved. Buddy of mines is originally from Hyde park and he moved to Foxborough in the 90s.. he said it was the best thing he ever did for his family. Unless he's sitting on 95 heading home at 2 pm..

Hot takes is one of the worse things to happen to sports analysis. It's no longer about truth but rather what stands out the most.

Other than transactional news their information is about as useful as any random poster on this board. Probably less since there are plenty of great posters here.

And yes I still listen and watch all the crap and I have no compelling reason as to why.
My question is what is mazz good at??? Felger is at least informed and although opinionated he can cross over and host NBC Boston.. what does mazz do? I'm curious..

His specialty is the Red Sox but he's pretty far removed from that these days he still knows baseball but he's not on the beat and there are better guys covering them now.

Murray is the worst one of the 3 on that show as far as I'm concerned. Felger and Mazz have there schtick sort of the Howard stern of sports talk just say crap to piss people off shock jock style. But Murray at one point used to sort of be the voice of reason and a homer counter point but somewhere along the way he just became an angry troll and I think it ruins the show more than Felger and Mazz. They need someone on there to push back.

We did it in stages but we've taken it a step further. I'm a born and raised Townie. I met my Bride (a native Maineiac) when she was in Boston attending college. From a career standpoint Maine was not an option for me but she'd had her fill of city living. I dragged my feet a bit but became a reluctant suburbanite when we moved to a quiet town on the North Shore to raise our family. She and our boys summered in Maine with my country-ish transition happening on weekends. Now we're retired to The Foothills, once a month or so Ma n me hook up the buckboard and do some shoppin' in the big city of N. Conway NH then we beat a retreat with our supplies as fast as we can back through the woods to this here mountain. All the way back we're cussin' the flat-lander tourist types pluggin' up our road. No 'road' isn't a typo, this is Western Maine and we only got the one, without which 'you can't get there from here'

I'll always be a Masshole. I appreciate it here but there's honestly a lot I miss about living in Boston and its environs. Not the least of which is having a myriad of ways to get somewhere. That's something I really took for granted. OFC more roads mean more people so... yeah, F that

Got it.! Didn't Beetle used to be on with them? He's another whinner.. too. Yes Murray can be funny but he generally goes along with the other 2.. I tune into weei personally.. I enjoy the Greg hill show and I like fitzy on the afternoon show.

I also mentioned that the organization members all knew the draft room operation.. was being filmed..under bill and currently.. so.. take it for whatever it's worth my guy..

Soooo, you drew a conclusion from one filmed war room but not the other?
How very Andy-like of you, you're coming along with the doublespeak there Sunshine. Before we know it you'll be telling all of us what we were really thinking when we posted the exact opposite.

Yeah Beetle was there a long time ago and offered that counter point when he was there. Somehow when he left he kind of turned himself into a Felger and Mazz type though. I think with Zo they get some insider perspective and the ultimate homer so I prefer their show to Felger's even if Beetle is just a watered down version of Felger and Mazz.

Well.. there.. fella.. how huck of you.. to have a problem with one post.. but not the other.. no double talk to be had at all there.. simply putting up one war room to compare, and contrast to another... did you miss on purpose my comments?

the organization knows they are likely being filmed ..

Just curious, do you think BB was deferring when he asked the same thing here?

Or is it maybe just possible that's war room talk for 'Speak now or forever hold your peace'?

Also my guy.. I think @One-If-By-Sea already summed it up best.. I see your going down huck road here...

My mans, be sure to check out Deacons Street Whiskey Bar on your next trip to North Conway. I am quite sure you'll be a fan.

His thing is allegedly baseball.

This doesn't fit with how I've heard the war room was set up. From what I remember they did have a very small group in the war room but the scouts would be just outside the room so they could ask them for information on demand.
I’ve read a couple articles a couple years ago about this, it’s why a lot of scouts left and went to other teams, also when things like they insist that N’Keal Harry should not be drafted.

I go to several every year for junkies like us it's a great way to get a fix.

I live so close though and I've got it down exactly when to leave my house and where to park and where to go to squeeze an extra seat. I arrive after the stretching period and throwing to air. Usually during individual drills just before they get into 7 on 7s and 11 on 11s.

Definitely a great thing to do with the family too but that's a whole different investment in time and even though it's free to attend they'll still get your money if you're a group between waters and food and the pro shop.
I don’t live to far, it’s been a while, I go to every home game so maybe that’s why I haven’t been.

Believe it or not, he was very good as a Sox beat reporter with the Herald, as much as it pains me to admit it. When he became a columnist, and when he worked for the Globe, he became the squeaky curmudgeon who we frequently hear say, "absolutely, Mike."

I'll retweet that. Back in the day, he was a very good baseball guy. Not at a Peter Gammons level, but pretty good. Now he's just a joke.

Yeah back in the day there was Gammons at the top of the heap then a small drop to McAdam then a substantial drop to Montville, Squeaky and Buckley then a cliff the other Sox writers were at the bottom of. I still like McAdam's stuff but we sure could use a Gammons, sports 'journalism' in general is in the toilet but baseball coverage has fallen the furthest. It is abysmal

1977-Raymond Clayborn and Stanley Morgan.

Wow!

Those two drafts back to back.

I think the CB position was undervalued back then.

Not anymore. Aside from QBs, shutdown CBs are the most difficult position to fill, maybe more difficult. You can build a team around a blue chip QB and 1-2 CBs.

1977-Raymond Clayborn and Stanley Morgan.

Both of them belong in the NFL HoF. Little doubt if they played in San Fran, Dallas, Washington, Oakland, NY or Pittsburgh they'd be in it
